“Ya man” captains Ron and Al are the best! - Captains Ron and Alvin were the real deal “ya man”! They were so fun and really explained the exumas and all destinations we visited. They made each excursion (iguanas, pigs, sharks) fun by explaining what to do and not do and letting my daughter and I jump off the boat to swim with the pigs and sharks. Our best day of our entire visit in large part to their attitude and humor. Highly recommend both!!!!

Information I wish I had before we went on this great trip. - This was a great experience for the family (22,19,14 yrs old) . It’s pricey but when you’re going 180 miles round trip I get it. A lot of people from Nassau fly to the Exuma islands so it’s very far. Our captain took us to two hots spots that are not typical for every trip to the Exuma islands. I missed out on a coupon code bc I didn’t call Pieces of 8 to find out what the current one is. I just booked directly online. Call first then book. The bubble bath and the sunken plane were the money spots. The sharks were very awesome too. The pigs and iguanas is fun but not the money. It depends on the currents and water conditions on where you can and can’t go. We didn’t get to see the sand bars as high tide was coming in. Cruising around the cays was pretty cool too. The boat is super powerful. 1200 hp engines. Water and the views is amazing everywhere there. The ride in the seas is something else. That was something I was not ready for. Be prepared for that and if that is something you are ready for. However the crew did not BS us that the ride was going to be very rough. In fact we were supposed to go a few days before and Pieces of 8 rebooked us due to weather. Super awesome crew led by captain “Jelly”. They were very informative super nice, helpful, top notch Service. When you’re back make sure you tip those guys well assuming you had the same top notch experience we had. The lunch was very mid but very cute restaurant on one of the island. Oh if you’re staying at Atlantis so convenient to get on and off the boat. You meet in the lobby at 7 they check you in then walk you over to the boats. Def the highlight of our trip to the Bahamas.

Best Day Ever - We had such a great time on this tour! Diego, Alex and Meatball were our guides, and honestly you couldn’t ask for better guides. They were always making sure everyone was happy and comfortable, while also taking the time to tell us facts about the different islands and locations we were visiting. The islands are absolutely beautiful and photos don’t do it justice. We had so much fun swimming with the nurse sharks, pigs and visiting the sandbar! Lunch at Lorraine’s cafe was also sooo good! Highly recommend Pieces of 8 if you’re looking to visit the Exumas!

AWESOME - This tour consisted of traveling in a group of 20 individuals with 3 guides on a speed boat. You spend a lot of time on the boat, but the scenery is gorgeous. We experienced. Feeding iguanas, swimming with nurse sharks, swimming and feeding the pigs, snorkeling over a plane wreck and swimming in the most beautiful bay I’ve ever seen. This excursion is expensive, but worth every penny. Snacks and lunch are included. Shout out to Captain Ron, Big Al, and Lex!

Best day! Things to note: - My fam with teens had the best & most memorable day! The crew was awesome. But I want to share some considerations so people make their best decision for their group and these guys continue to get the fantastic ratings they deserve. We stopped to feed iguanas, hold nurse sharks, feed the hilarious pigs, had a nice local lunch, played on a submerged sandbar and snorkeled over a plane wreck. It’s a haul to get out to these places so there were minimal crowds, maybe just our boat of ~20 and another max at these spots. Thank you to Captain J, Alvin & Duran for being so helpful, cool to talk with and funny! It was great to hang with regular guys who aren’t cheesy tour guides you may see in some other vacation spots around the world. Now you need to be aware that the boat ride can be a lot. I’d say don’t bring small children or unadventurous grandparents. You’re on a speedboat going fast and far to get to these uncrowded beautiful spots and there is a ton of wind, waves, some slamming around, some spray, and if you don’t get a boat with a shade - sun. If anyone is prone to seasickness or isn’t at all athletic, leave them to enjoy themselves doing something else. The guys are great at keeping everyone hydrated. But if you’re at all squeamish about intense boating this isn’t for you. Otherwise - it’s a fun adventure you’ll talk about for a long time! Thank you for the most fun day we’ve had on this trip and this summer so far! You guys are great!

Experience the Exumas full day tour - We took family of 5 on full day tour. The guides were phenomenal with Keshawn, Diego and Lex. We did the long tour and were most excited about the pigs but swimming with the nurse sharks ended up being everyone’s favorite experience. We stayed at Atlantis and the pickup and walking to marina was so easy. Highly recommend this company and tour was highlight of our vacation.

Absolute must book adventure - Hands down the best experience of our lives! My husband and I would do this excursion every single time we come to the Bahamas. Alex, Meatball and Captain made the experience so amazing. They were friendly, extremely helpful, funny, informative, and checked in on us. I’m someone that is afraid of the ocean and boats and was able to fully let my guard down and have a blast. Only suggestion is to reapply sunscreen more than you think you’ll need. I can’t wait to come back and do this again.

A 5 for the guides only...a minus 5 for the negligence of customers! - I am going to start this review with the 3 guides we had on our boat (I can't remember their names, I think one was Matt) were super nice and a joy to be around. If it weren't for them, I would absolutely give this tour a minus 5! Now, I don't know if they overbooked or what, but we had about 24 people on our boat. Most were in their 20-30's, a few kids under 13, and 2 of us that were almost or over 50. We were a group of 4, 2 that were 40, one that was 50, and a young child, and we were placed in the front of the boat, no cover, no warning, no explanation of how we got placed up front. While we signed our lives away holding nobody at risk for injuries, nobody asked if anyone had any type of conditions to not sit up front, where people in the back said, "we were fighting for our lives". It was super rocky, smashed down hard and 100% full sun! When we got to the first point, I asked if we could rotate so we didn't have to sit in the sun for 8 hours...and was told NO! We applied sunscreen over and over again and for 8 hours we sat in the HOT Bahamian sun for 8 hours while all 20 other guests and the crew sat under a nice canopy! Nobody had concerns with a child being in the sun for 8 hours and not one adult offered to rotate so my kid could get out of the sun. There is a true thing called sun poisoning and you should really think twice before getting on a boat with no cover for 8 hours! My daughter has a face full of blisters and scars from the sun. When I asked how we were chosen to sit up front, the guys on the boat said the ladies at the front desk make that decision. No rhyme or reason for anything! So what did we get...we did get to see Iguanas, pigs, a sandbar, and have lunch....but absolutely none of this has been worth watching my daughter in pain because of their overbooking and/or their negligence of placing a kid upfront! Do not sit up front! Refuse and ask for a refund! Shame on this company and shame on Atlantis for promoting it!

Not a serious operator - We booked this excursion as the highlight of our Bahamas trip and to celebrate my husband’s birthday, but unfortunately, the experience with Pieces of 8 was extremely disappointing. Our original Exuma trip was scheduled for Wednesday but was canceled due to what we were told was bad weather. However, we experienced beautiful, sunny weather on Wednesday and continued to enjoy beautiful weather on Friday and Saturday. As Florida residents who own a boat and are familiar with changing marine conditions, we found the explanation difficult to understand. We were later told that although conditions may not have been suitable for Exuma, the weather was good for the Pink Sands excursion. That alternative was never offered to us. Instead, our trip was simply rebooked for Saturday, the day before our departure. Unfortunately, Saturday was when we actually experienced genuinely bad weather, and the trip was canceled again. Based on how everything was handled, we were left wondering whether the original cancellation may have been related to consolidating bookings rather than simply the weather. I cannot know whether that was the case, but the lack of alternative options and communication certainly gave us that impression. After planning our vacation around this excursion, we left the Bahamas without getting to experience what was supposed to be the highlight of my husband’s birthday trip. To make matters worse, we were told the refund could take up to 12 days. Two cancellations, no meaningful alternative offered, a missed birthday experience, and a long wait for a refund. Overall, a truly disappointing experience and very poor handling of our reservation.

Scam - They will change this tour after you book and pay for it and then they never refund the difference. They constantly cancel and change the tour so they can do less and rip you off. Then ignore you forever.
