Giza Pyramids - Embark on a day trip to Giza, including visits to the Pyramids of Giza, Saqqara, and Dahshour. At 8:00 AM, an Egypt Tour guide will have a representative meet the operator at Cairo airport or Giza to escort them to the Giza Pyramids. The tour includes visits to the pyramids of Giza - Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus, followed by a visit to the Valley Temple. The Great Sphinx is also on the itinerary. For an additional fee, there is an option to enter the Great Pyramid.
Afterward, drive to the surrounding tombs (Mastabas), which feature impressive wall carvings depicting daily life in ancient Egypt. Optional: Visit the Serapeum, the underground burial site of sacred bulls, a lesser-known but intriguing part of Saqqara. At 1:00 PM, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, featuring traditional Egyptian dishes like grilled meats, falafel, and koshary (a renowned Egyptian rice and lentil dish). -
Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - The Bent Pyramid was constructed by King Sneferu, the first ruler of Dynasty 4. It is referred to as “bent” due to its unique shape, resulting from a change in angle during construction. Initially, the pyramid was built at a 55-degree angle, but it was altered to 43 degrees because the weight of the blocks made it unstable. Subsequently, the king’s builders erected another pyramid nearby, known as the Red Pyramid.

Pyramids of Dahshour - The Red Pyramid is the tallest pyramid in Dahshur, named for the reddish hue of its stones. Originally, it was a bright white, made of Tura limestone, located south of modern-day Cairo. All pyramids were originally covered with this white limestone, which was repurposed in medieval times. There may be an opportunity to enter the Red Pyramid and explore its inner chambers for those willing to climb!
At 4:30 PM, begin the return journey to Cairo, passing through villages along the Nile. This is a great time to ask the guide any further questions about the history and culture experienced during the tour.
