• Memphis and Sakkara - Memphis, also known as Manf, was the ancient capital of Inebu-hedj, the first nome of Lower Egypt, referred to as mḥw (“North”). Its remnants are situated near the modern village of Mit Rahina in the Badrashin district of Giza, Egypt. The contemporary name likely originates from the late Ancient Egyptian name for Memphis, mjt-rhnt, meaning “Road of the Ram-Headed Sphinxes.”

Together with the pyramid fields extending over a desert plateau for more than 30 kilometers (19 miles) to its west, including the renowned Pyramids of Giza, Memphis and its necropolis are recognized as a World Heritage Site. The site is accessible to the public as an open-air museum.

According to legends recounted in the early third century BC by Manetho, a priest and historian from the Ptolemaic Kingdom during the Hellenistic period of ancient Egypt, the city was established by King Menes.

• Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Saqqara, also spelled Sakkara or Saccara in English, is an Egyptian village in the Badrashin district of the Giza Governorate. It contains ancient burial grounds of Egyptian royalty, serving as the necropolis for the ancient Egyptian capital, Memphis. Saqqara is home to numerous pyramids, including the Pyramid of Djoser, often called the Step Tomb, and several mastaba tombs. Located approximately 30 km (19 miles) south of modern-day Cairo, Saqqara spans an area of about 7 by 1.5 km (4.3 by 0.9 miles).

Saqqara boasts the oldest complete stone building complex known in history, the Pyramid of Djoser, constructed during the Third Dynasty. An additional sixteen Egyptian kings built pyramids at Saqqara.

• Statue of Ramses II - The Statue of Ramesses II is a 3,200-year-old sculpture of Ramesses II, depicting him standing. It was unearthed in 1820 by Giovanni Battista Caviglia at the Great Temple of Ptah near Memphis, Egypt. Made from limestone, it weighs 83 tons. This statue was created to commemorate the victory over the Hittites in the Battle of Kadesh in 1274 B.C.[citation needed]

The statue was discovered broken into six pieces, and earlier restoration attempts were unsuccessful. In 1955, Egyptian Prime Minister Gamal Abdel Nasser relocated it to the large Bab Al-Hadid Square in Cairo, outside the main railway station; the square was subsequently renamed Ramses Square. There, the statue was restored to its full height of 11 meters and placed on a three-meter pedestal at the edge of a fountain. It was reinforced with iron bars inside the body.

• Pyramids of Dahshour - The Black Pyramid, built by King Amenemhat III (r. c. 1860 BC-c. 1814 BC) during the Middle Kingdom of Egypt (2055–1650 BC), is one of the five remaining pyramids of the original eleven at Dahshur in Egypt. Initially named Amenemhet is Mighty, the pyramid acquired the name Black Pyramid due to its dark, decaying appearance as a rubble mound. The Black Pyramid was the first to house both the deceased pharaoh and his queens. Jacques de Morgan, on a French mission, began excavating the pyramids at Dahshur in 1892. The German Archaeological Institute of Cairo completed the excavation in 1983.
