- Costera 63 - We will meet at the Bertilla Lagoon.The Captain Sara is waiting for you to give you all the instructions of the catamaran adventure and we will start the adventure. We will go south towards the Esmeralda and CocalÃtos cenote, already deep in the southern zone we will appreciate its crystal clear waters due to the presence of stromatolites. The landscapes become jungle, mangroves and wetlands, we will immerse ourselves in the silence of the area that, together with the movement of the boat, generate feelings of relaxation and peace. We will stop at the abandoned pier where you can cool off as Sara prepares a delicious seasonal fruit snack. We will continue our journey to the island of birds, a sanctuary for local and migratory birds where we will also stop to swim in its warm waters and appreciate the sunset that its landscape offers us. Returning to our starting point wrapped in sails, wind and speed and already with all of Bacalar under our skin.

Great way to see the lagoon on a more personal level. - Had a really pleasant time with Sara in the Catamaran, as there were cancellations it was just the two of us. The cancellations were because of the wind but this made for a l little more of an exciting experience. I'd not been on a sailing experience like this so it was totally worth it.

Amazing sailing tour over the lagoon! - We (family of 4) had an amazing trip!! Sara and Valentina were really relaxed and created a great athmosphere! The lagoon is really beautifull and with the catamaron tour you visit places where no other tours go! So you have the lagoon all to yourself. We made 2 stops en enjoyed fresh fruit, which was delicious! Really recommend going with Bakana sailing!

Fantastic daysail with Sara - We had a lovely 3 hour sail around the pristine south end of the lagoon on a Hobie 20 footer (wind powered), with refreshments along the way, and ample opportunity to swim in the crystal clear torquoise waters. Sara is a delightful host and very competent sailor, and super knowledgeable about the ecology of this specatular area. She and her sailing colleagues that work on Bacalar Lagoon should be commended for their efforts to protect the lagoon from the impacts of careless tourism, as exemplefied by the proliferation of jet ski's and motor boats in the region, which are destroying the delicate mangroves and ancient stromatolites found along the shores of this delicate lagoon. They should be supported by anyone who cares about protecting this treasure of the Mexican nation.

Much better than noisy overcrowded motorboat! - We had such a great time with sara on her sailing boat exploring the lake of bacalar.
She took us to see the cenotes, stromatolites, mangroves and one of the bird sanctuaries.
She also provided a great fresh fruit platter and a beer!
It seemed a much better way to explore the lake than via a motor boat which are often loaded with 10+ people, play loud music, and take away from the importance of appreciating the ecosystem
