- Please note on the dates listed Castle Bolton will be closed to the public and therefore will not be visited on your tour. (6th June, 12th June, 27th June, 17th July, 26th July, 1st August, 22nd August 11th September and 26th September 2026)
- Due to the nature of the out tours, we cannot wait for customers who arrive at their tour start point late. If you are late for your tour, our cancellation policy applies. 100% charges are applicable and you will not be entitled to a refund or alternative.
- Please note due to a prominent Bike race in the area on September 5th - the tour will follow a different route than we typically do. This will not affect your attractions or the length of your tour.
- Combined Tour: On selected departures, this tour shares a vehicle with guests travelling on our All Creatures Great and Small tour. Both experiences explore the beautiful landscapes, villages and stories of the Yorkshire Dales, and the day is designed to be equally enjoyable whether or not you are familiar with the television series.

Day in the Yorkshire Dales - Lovely day visiting the Dales. Wonderful hike, pub lunch, and trip through the villages. Barry did a great job explaining the history of the Dales and the people who lived there. Highly recommend!

Wonderful sights and history of Yorkshire Dales - This has been an amazing tour! We have learnt a lot about local history, and many interesting trivia, like I wasn't aware a Creamery was saved by Wallace & Gromit! The places were magnificent, the sheep adorable, the birds of prey spectacular. Barry was very kind, friendly and incredibly knowledgable! Highly recommended tour!

10/10 thanks to Trevor! - Had such a wonderful day with Trevor on Wednesday 5th of August. Can't believe the amount of knowledge he has and the Dales were gorgeous. Particularly loved St Michael and All the Angels church. What a gem! This was our third Mountain Goat Tour and we've never been disappointed but this was the best one yet.
The tour is well worth the money, plenty of photo stops and tea & coffee stops.
Would highly recommend - just make sure you have some cash leftover (unlike us who had no cash on us 🫠) to tip the amazing Trevor!

Given physical distance... - Given physical distance between York and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, most of the time was spent on traveling. But the park is very good and worth visiting.

A perfect day trip from York - This was a lovely day in the countryside. Because we were in a van rather than a huge bus, we were able to travel by the smaller roads past hedgerows and stone walls, enjoying the beautiful scenery, while stopping in some charming villages and eating far too much cheese at the Wensleydale Creamery. John, our guide and driver, was entertaining and informative, and the whole day was great fun.
(I also really appreciated the clear directions to the meeting point. I found it immediately and that's not always the case!)

The scenery was stunning... - The scenery was stunning and I loved Bolton Castle. I felt we had enough time at each stop. The guide Lee was very knowledgable and made things peaceful.

All in all a great tour but would have liked a little more time during the stops - We went on this tour today. Our driver was very nice and knowleddgable about the area. I would have liked to make the stops a little longer so as to have a chance to walk around a little more. We also went on a trip to Castle Howard yesterday, and that also was wonderful but I would have liked a little more time there as well.

Nice tour, bad guide. - The places that we visited were beautiful and enjoyable. But the experience with the tour guide was not good. Our guide talked constantly. It was hard to understand what he was taking about. He kept bringing up some characters in a book that we were unfamiliar with. So it was just annoying. One of our stops was supposed to be at the Aysgarth Falls but we didn’t go there. We were expecting to return by 6:15 but arrived an hour early. So I think he forgot about making that stop. The stop in Wensleydale wasn’t long enough to get lunch and see the town. It would have been better to spend more time there and maybe a little less time sitting and listening to our guide drone on about the book I didn’t know about. I hope the other tour guides who do this tour are more thoughtful.
