We had great communication with Travis before the tour. He researched the most likely time to see the aurora and scheduled the pick up to maximize our chances. He was knowledgable about the aurora and aurora photography and not only helped us set up our camera but also took many great photos with his own camera and tripod. He even edited the photos after the viewing and airdropped them to our iphone. The aurora itself was a bit weak at the original viewing site but Travis did not give up and strongly suggested we try another place even though we had already spent several hours looking and waiting. It paid off with great views of the aurora and nice photos as a memory. If you do not have enough warm clothes Travis can see to it that you are all prepared. He even has overshoes that make tracking through the snow warmer on your feet. Overall, Travis is just a really nice guy who is genuinely interested in you having a great experience. We highly recommend him to anybody who would like to have a customized aurora trip.
I highly recommend this tour. Travis was an awesome tour guide and was very flexible with my schedule. I booked the tour online the day of and he was able to accommodate my booking even though he had a tour earlier in the evening. Great communication in advance of pickup on the weather conditions and which location might be best to see the lights. Pickup was around 11:30pm and we drove to murphy dome, and walked a bit to an igloo that he had made. It was a really cloudy night but the spot was perfect to see the lights that were visible. He look lots of picture and was very knowledgeable about the lights, the area, and overall just great conversation ! He also had extra warm clothes, boots, and gloves so I wasn't cold at all. I went on 2 northern lights tours during my short trip and this was by far the best one.
Travis was the best tour guide ever. He really knows his stuff and truly wants to show his guests the best experience. He really works hard and sets the bar. I couldn't recommend him more! Steve from CA
