Creative and Inspiring Workshop Experience - This was my second time at the awe‑inspiring Weta Workshop. I had joined the tour previously, and this time I tried the craft workshop. The instructor was very encouraging—she kept motivating us to explore unique designs and was supportive of the ideas we came up with. She shared different creative possibilities, showing how simple materials like cardboard, seaweed, and stones could be transformed into imaginative concepts, such as a model of a house. I really enjoyed the session. The only downside was that I wished it had been longer, because it was such a fun and inspiring experience. Overall, it’s one of the best creative workshops I’ve attended.

This Is a Must-Do experience! - Wow, Wow, Wow. This was a fantastic experience. I do not consider myself artistic in the least, but I ended up creating a work of art that I was extremely pleased with. We started with nothing but a cardboard rectangle, some tin foil and paint...and after 90min, I'd made a model that I was extremely pleased with! The staff person who ran the workshop was outstanding. This trip was one of the highlights of our (family of 3, all adults) 2 week trip to New Zealand.

Engaging and creative workshop where you can learn how to make characters come to life - The teacher was so engaging and kind. She explained things so well and we absolutely loved it. Great fun for a rainy day in Auckland city centre.

Fun! - This was so much fun!! Learned a lot and it survived the international plane ride! On a rainy day this was a great way to have fun and learn some new skills.

Deja was lovely - more resources - Lovely guide very friendly. Some of the resources were less than ideal. Would’ve been nice to have some masking tape and perhaps some superglue or similar.

Total Scam - Waste of money. Kids were given $5 worth of cardboard and glue and told to google what they wanted to do. No instruction; no assistance, no tutoring, no movie scene. None of the stuff advertised on the website. None of this promised below happened. ''You need to be creative, yes, but our Unleashed crew will help you extract your inner artist and teach you the skills you need to create your imaginary world. You’ll be guided through a Workshop brief based on our original fantasy movie, the Age of the Ever-Clan, featured in the Wētā Workshop Unleashed experience. Your crew member will take you through the brief, examine the movie scene to understand the miniature required, and then dive right into the techniques needed to bring that scene to life.''

No artists! no workshop! Absolutely a SCAM! - On their site they promise “our team will teach you the basic techniques…” this is absolutely untrue. There was no teaching, support, or even help. The man in charge of the workshop instructed the guests to “look online and do it yourself” the experience we were expecting working with effects artists making something and being show at least something more than $5 worth of paint and glue and being told to “just look online”. This is a scam- nothing to do with actual artists or even a workshop.
