Rotorua, maori village and Polynesian spa - Our day trip to Rotorua, including visits to the Maori Village and the Polynesian Spa, was thoroughly enjoyable. Our guide, Jaime, was truly exceptional. He was very informative and incredibly accommodating, consistently ensuring everyone's comfort and well-being. He brought smiles to everyone's faces. He kept us well-informed about the schedule and upcoming activities. The entire tour was outstanding. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in experiencing Rotorua. Thank you for making this trip possible. Regards, Anda & Jay-R

Greatest Original (OG) village - not commercialized - This is an ORIGINAL VILLAGE, with actual tribes people living in it. Buildings are original and old. You get a great sense of the passion the Māori people have for their culture and sharing about it. The “other tour” or village is just built for commercial use to sell to tourists. But thie experience is TRUE and with original buildings. I highly recommend this TRUE to the Māori people tour. My tour guides Mother was born in this village and his father was from a tribe at a different village. He was humorous, humble and had a vast amount of knowledge. The ceremony with the traditional Haka song and dance was AMAZING! I LOVE watching the Rugby Haka performances before each match, but it was moving for them to give the explanation and story behind it. Especially why it’s important to stick the tongue out. Lol The love song they sang after was so beautiful that it brought me to tears. Great singing voices and moving love story…I’m surprised Disney hasn’t picked up this story and made an animated movie! LOVE THE VILLAGE, can’t wait to come back and eat some more fresh made corn from the streaming pools. Best made corn!

Best way to experience the Maori culture! - Highly recommend it! We did the live maori village with spa and they were both excellent. The tour driver was knowledgeable and seemed to know the area well, he was also very informative. Plan to stay a couple days in Rotorua to truly enjoy the experience. The drive was long and we felt rushed being there only for a few hours, wished we had more time to explore. Overall, one of the highlights of our trip.

A fun day - It was a long day, but we had such a good time! We met at 5.40 am (!) and got back about 6.15 pm. The van was very clean and comfortable enough for a few hours ride. Communication with Expedigo NZ was great. Jason, our driver, was super punctual, friendly and a fantastic driver. We made a couple of stops on the way to Rotorua and one on the way back. This village is the only living village and the tour we had was very informative and fun. The dance performance was great. We learned a lot about the Maori history and our guide was fantastic.

Feel happy, comfortable, relaxing, and warm - My parents and I truly enjoyed every moment and had a lovely time throughout the day. Jason's kindness, professionalism and positive attitude made the experience even more special. We especially appreciated how he looked after everyone in the group and ensured that we were comfortable, informed and enjoying ourselves at all times. Jason's knowledge and enthusiasm brought the tour to life and it was clear that he genuinely care about all guests, this one day trip will remain a beautiful memory for us! We were very happy with Jason's excellent guidance and warm hospitality! 💗 Lu Yuan 27 Feb 2026

Sights and sounds of the Maori - It's a long day!! Meeting at 6:00 am. Matt was our driver. He was very engaging giving us on going commentary as we drove for almost three hours to get to the village. His headset microphone was muffled and the clarity of what he was saying suffered. That's about the only negative. The village is a living working real community which my husband and I found delightful. You really see the people and how they have created their homes by adapting to their environment of the steam spewing volcanic activity for cooking, bathing and everyday activities. There was beautiful presentation of the Maori culture through their songs and dance. Before heading to the village, we stopped at an area where the pools of volcanic magma flow. You can hear the roar coming from the inner earth and see the volcanic action that has been happening for millions of years. Amazing!! My husband and I give it two thumbs up. Just be prepared for a very long day.

Don’t miss Whakarewarewa! But maybe not with Expedigo! - The village experience was stellar! It is a must do! Our driver for the day was terrible. When told we couldn’t hear him in the back of the van, he said he couldn’t use the microphone and we were going to see the sites which is what we paid for. He was very disorganized with our schedules and stopped randomly. The spa was beautiful but the staff checking us in was rude and unhelpful. Just not giving us enough information as we arrived. We saw other groups getting a pre-tour and explanation of the pools, but we were told nothing. It was also unclear how to choose which experience of those listed. We thought we would get to choose our activities from the description, but were told we were assigned to the spa. Would have love to see redwoods.
