• Soljans Estate Winery - The wineries in Kumeu have a rich history dating back to the 1930s when Croatian families began winemaking in the region. These families continue to reside and work there, producing some of New Zealand’s most celebrated wines. The vineyards beautifully complement the area’s stunning coastal scenery.

Escape the hustle and bustle of Auckland city and travel northwest to join our afternoon wine tour, where you can savor the flavors of Kumeu Wine Country, Auckland’s Heritage Wine Region. Delight in lunch at a modern vineyard restaurant, sample world-renowned wines, and admire the rugged, surf-fringed coastline nearby.

Your first stop is at Soljans Vineyard. Soljans has received numerous awards for their wines and is highly regarded in New Zealand for their expertise in producing methode traditionelle (bottle-fermented) sparkling wines. Enjoy lunch and a wine tasting at Soljans Winery restaurant. The winery is designed to capture sunlight and offers Mediterranean-style cuisine with a New Zealand twist, featuring fresh seasonal produce from the region.

• Kumeu River Wines - A short drive brings us to our next destination, Kumeu River. Established by the Brajkovich family in the 1940s, all their grapes are hand-harvested, and the winery remains family-run (Michael Brajkovich was New Zealand’s first Master of Wine!). Kumeu River is globally renowned for their Chardonnay and also produces a variety of other wines.
• Muriwai Beach - Visit the black sands of Muriwai Beach, observe the gannets soaring in the distance, and enjoy the breathtaking views of this stunning surf beach.

• Westbrook Winery - Your final wine tasting takes place at West Brook Winery. The West Brook cellar door overlooks a picturesque duck pond and terraced picnic area, surrounded by rows of vines. The wines reflect true varietal character and their unique regional origins. They are of premium quality and have won numerous awards. This half-day ‘wineries out west’ wine tour offers a wonderful introduction to the region.
