Highly recommended- a must do when you’re in Auckland - Excellent tour - enjoyed every minute of it. Our tour guide Aled was super and his knowledge added to the experience. Weather was brilliant too. There is a fair bit of walking, which I loved but may not be for everyone

Coromandel Cove and Hot Beach tour. - Geoff, the tour guide was really knowledgeable on the areas and sights visited and on NZ in general. The highlights were awesome, especially the Hot Water Beach, and Coromandel Cove had some spectacular views. The only thing is, you need to be aware that a few of the sights require a fair bit of walking and steps to traverse, but you are given advice when booking that a reasonable level of fitness is required. All in all, a very worthwhile tour to do.

Expectations surpassed: The guides do their best to ensure you get a well tailored experience - The locations visited are definitely unique and worth seeing. Assuming you can win the lottery that is the NZ weather, the countryside on the way through Bombay hills is very scenic, especially as the sun begins to break the morning mist. Moderate fitness is highly recommended, as there is a fair bit of hiking immediately before and after cathedral cove; some flights of stairs from the beach are quite steep. That said, there is an additional ferry every thirty minutes from cathedral cove for those who do not want to hike up the stairs. Building a mini fort in the hot water beach was fun too; since the tide eventually picks up and brings in cold water, depending on where you are situated you'll have to set up some decent walls (the guide will do it but you can help too). Highly recommend the visit in NZs winter months as there are much fewer people around and the hot water veins only go so far. Swimwear recommended, but if you don't feel too strongly about lying down in the pool, or jumping into the oncoming cold tide, you can get away with a pair of shorts. We were fortunate enough to have two guides for our trip, which opened up more options for exploring. Aled and Mark were both very friendly, and knowledgeable of the area, including history and geography and were pretty flexible with the time, and accommodated us spectacularly. We had the option after to hear more of the history, or to get some quiet time for a nap. Probably can guess which one we went with. They also gave us recommendations of what to explore in the north island. Complimentary quick snacks and water were provided to supplement the hiking. There will typically be time for a stop at a decent cafe for breakfast, a hub eatery for lunch, and a rest stop for ice cream on the way back to Auckland. A few bonus optional locations/hikes (free of charge) dependent on time and weather, your energy, and possibly quantity of guides.
