• Sky Tower - Starting from the iconic Auckland Sky Tower, the west coast adventure kicks off with a guided tour departing the city center, crossing the renowned Harbour Bridge to Auckland’s North Shore. The journey continues westward through the upscale areas of Coatesville, Kumeu, and Riverhead. Throughout the trip, guides will highlight key attractions and share fascinating stories about the region.
• Hallertau Brewery - Upon arrival at the Hallertau craft beer brewery, guests will enjoy a delightful lunch selected from a special set menu. After lunch, there is an opportunity to sample some of Hallertau’s award-winning craft beers before proceeding with the day’s activities.
• Muriwai Beach - A brief drive from the brewery leads to the wild west coast’s black sand beach, Muriwai. Visitors will be captivated by the rugged coastline, distinctive black sand, and the area’s raw natural beauty.
• Muriwai Gannet Colony - A walk up the hill from the beach offers not only stunning views but also the chance to observe the largest mainland gannet colony in the North Island. Being in close proximity to these magnificent ocean-navigating birds is a unique experience. (Bird numbers vary throughout the year).
• North Head Historic Reserve - After crossing the harbour again, the tour heads to the picturesque seaside suburb of Devonport. Here, a scenic drive leads to the summit of North Head, a historic volcanic cone offering panoramic views of the Hauraki Gulf and city skyline. Visitors can learn about its intriguing military tunnels and coastal defense history while exploring this exceptional vantage point.

Its tunnels, bunkers, and gun placements narrate the story of coastal defense from the late 1800s through both World Wars. The short walk to the summit (approximately 10 minutes) is rewarded with some of the most spectacular harbour views in Auckland.
