What a fantastic tour. - Panos is sensational! The tour was incredibly informative, weaving Athenian historical events with philosophers and their influence on such events. Panos' knowledge was communicated with a passion that was infectious, leaving little doubt the significance these ancient times and people had on our society today. If you are after a tour that delivers more than wikipedia information, Panos' tour is for you. We honestly did not want the tour to stop.

Highlight of our trip to Athens - This tour was the highlight of our great trip to Athens. Panos is an excellent guide and teacher and put Athens history into context. He was engaging and educational and I felt like I got a college course in half a day. Highly recommend!

Knowledge that stays with you - I had an incredible experience on my tour, and it wouldn’t have been the same without Panos, our guide. He didn’t just show us ancient sites, he connected them to the present in a way that felt personal, thoughtful, and honestly unforgettable. We started at the Acropolis, where Panos explained how its height wasn’t just for protection, it was a symbol of civic pride and divine connection. From there, we moved through the ancient marketplaces, stopping at the Tower of the Winds, the Greek and Roman Agoras, the Library of Hadrian, and more. Every stop came with stories that tied history to now, how the Greeks asked questions we’re still grappling with. Panos was insightful, and never rushed. He even introduced us to small gems like the Pythagorean cup, which became one of my favorite lessons: balance matters. If you ever want to learn about democracy, philosophy, science, and art not just as facts, but as living questions, book this tour with Panos. It’ll stay with you.

Do not miss this tour - Panos had us enthralled right through this tour. The structure worked so well to improve our understanding of the history of democracy and the part played by the philosophers. Also great insight into the need to work at democracy and why the world is in its current state.

A great introduction to the city and culture - Really fascinating and interesting Panos was very knowledgeable and engaging. With a wide variety of information and locations. I would recommend going at the start of your visit as you get a really good idea of the layout of the city.

Five thumbs up - He was thorough, impassioned (without being preach-y), broadly knowledgeable, and he presented wildly disparate fields of information in a way that gave it depth and coherence.

Best thing to do in Athens - This tour has truly added a special value to my trip to Athens. Panos is not only a very knowledgeable and engaging guide, but also a kind and pleasant individual who truly enjoys sharing the history and the impact of Greece on a whole different level than anything else one might experience during their visit. I warmly recommend it, as I left not only learning a lot of really interesting anecdotes, but also feeling an increased sense of responsibility as a human being participating in society.

Fun and educational - Pants was a fabulous teacher. He integrated the history of Athens as well as the philosophy and democracy topics directly into what we were seeing. We definitely saw things that most tourists don’t see and they were all around us.

One of the best! - I echo the other reviews here. This tour along with the Athens food tour were two of the best tours I have ever been on.
