Eleusis is a must, if you are in Greece! - Visiting Kerameikos and Eleusis was an unforgettable experience—each site rich with history, meaning, and a sense of timelessness. Walking through these ancient places felt like stepping into another world. We were fortunate to have Dimitri as our driver. He was not only incredibly friendly and engaging but also shared fascinating insights and stories along the way. His knowledge of history and genuine love for Greek culture made the entire journey even more meaningful. Dimitri truly elevated the day. If you have the chance to tour with him, you’re in for something special. Highly recommend!

Will definitely book again! - This tour was truly special. Walking along the Sacred Way and visiting the ancient site of Eleusis felt like being part of something timeless. Every stop had its own unique energy—from the peaceful Daphni Monastery to the mysterious Ploutonion Cave. Our guide, Demetrio, was fantastic—kind, knowledgeable, and deeply respectful of the history and spirit of each place. He made the whole experience feel personal and meaningful. On our next trip to Greece, we will definitely book again with this company and highly recommend Demetrio to anyone looking for more than just a typical tour. This was something we’ll remember for a long time.

Lovely tour with kind and knowledgable guide - We took the Eleuisinian mysteries tour with Demetrios - he was very kind and made many stops along the way to Eleuisus to give us a sense of the entire journey of the initiate. We did not feel rushed and he prepared us with the information we needed to enjoy the final stop at the Telesterion and the temple of Demeter.

Great tour/trip. Would highly recommend. - The trip to Eleusis was an important one to us and Periklis was a fantastic guide to take us through the journey and its importance. He showed us some of the sites personally and standing there as he explained the history brought it to life for us. He also let us roam alone and experience these ancient sites for ourselves. The trip was great and would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in the more secret side of Greek history and mythology as you take the Sacred Way to Demeter and Persephone.

Complex, uncrowded, deeply important to classical times - Very well worth seeing, especially if you have read up on the Mysteries beforehand, which I'm sure you always do. A "forgotten" site, so there was hardly anyone else there but the inevitable and ubiquitous cats when I visited. The silly picture of the maidens with torches is not what you will see. What you will see is a complex and fairly well-preserved place of extraordinary importance to the classical world, from distant early times down through Roman times. Eleusis was one of the three "Meccas" of the Greek world, along with Delos and Delphi - and Delphi can be crowded to almost Acropolis levels. Take time to sit and think yourself into the mystery of the Mysteries. The usual Greek absence of any accommodation for the handicapped.

It was interesting to hear Makis’ perspectives - It was great to learn about Greek spirit and culture from Makis. You would be lucky if he shares his fav spot in Athens with you. Extremely thoughtful.

Love the idea of this tour but needs guide at the archeological site - We booked this tour because we have personal interests in the history and wanted a more in-depth understanding of the place & cultures that influenced it. The tour was expensive- especially considering it was only about 3.5 hours long. The transportation was very nice, the guide was on time for pickup at our hotel, provided some good reference materials during the car ride, and was very informative along the way - sharing his knowledge of the myth and events that shaped it. He also stopped at several interesting and relevant sites along the way, but once we got to the massive archeological site, we were on our own. There was no guide inside the site - not even an audio guide to listen and follow along with. If we had not done a lot of reading in advance of this tour it would not have been particularly meaningful. Our recommendation for improving this experience is to - at very least - provide an audio guide. The price was too high.

Save your money and take a taxi to Eleusis. - Save your money and take a taxi to Eleusis. The guide/driver was pleasant and attentive enough but no expert or event knowledgeable about the mysteries. Note the guide does not go into the site with you. The lack of quality knowledge, poor storytelling and little added value beyond a taxi service make the entire tour a tourist sham.
