- Theatre of Dionysus - Dionysus, the god of wine and grape harvest, was honored in the Theatre of Dionysus, the oldest theatre established in Athens. It was here that the unparalleled works of Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, and Aristophanes were first performed.
- Temple of Athena Nike - Dedicated to the goddesses Athena and Nike, the Temple of Athena Nike celebrated victory. In Greek mythology, Nike was the goddess of victory, and Athena was revered in this victorious form. The temple’s cult statue of the goddess was wingless, symbolizing that she would never depart from Athens.
- Erechtheion - The Erechtheion is an ancient Greek temple on the Acropolis of Athens, built to house the ancient wooden cult statue of Athena and to glorify the city during its peak of power and influence.
- Parthenon - The Parthenon, a temple that dominates the Acropolis hill in Athens, was constructed in the mid-5th century BCE and dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena Parthenos (“Athena the Virgin”). It is widely regarded as the pinnacle of the Doric order, the simplest of the three Classical Greek architectural styles.

Recommended - Apart from a little confusion about admission tickets to the Acropolis booked through GetYourGuide, Michael conducted an excellent walking tour of the Acropolis. His knowledge of the History combined with relating details of the origins of English words derived from Greek characters was fascinating.

Recommend this Tour - Our tour guide Maria was excellent. Many stops along the way to explain. She did not rush anyone. She was born and raised in Athens and knew so much and with easy explanations. April is a great time to be in Athens she said. Not too crowded and not too hot. We really enjoyed this tour and with highly recommended it

Brilliant small group tour with Voula - Absolutely brilliant tour, our guide Voula was fantastic - my husband, three children (7, 4 and 22 months) had a great time and Voula’s commentary was excellent and kept the elder two engaged! She was really kind and the children adored her (and so did the adults)! Thank you!

Parthenon - Sensational tour guide that is also a working archeologist. Extremely knowledgeable and informative. Concluded the tour standing at dusk besides the Parthenon overlooking a spectacular sunset view of Athens and the port of Piraeus.

Beautiful views and tons of history! - This was such an informative tour! So much information and history! Our guide (Alex? sorry I don't quite remember) was amazing and so attentive. My only complaint is that we spent a lot of time in the meeting area and was very rushed at the Acropolis since it closes at 5pm. We didn't get any free time and the staff was asking everyone to leave. Seeing the views at sunset was worth it tho!
