Give it a go, you’ll be pleased you did. - WOW! Not something we would usually do but as highly recommended by a family friend who visited in Spring it’s changed our opinions. Amazing guide, informative, engaging and with a great sense of humour. Whilst we are familiar with Greek cuisine it was the locations, history and little nuggets of information that made us appreciate how, what and why about food we’d enjoyed without a second thought. It’s a great experience and one we will look forward to on other city breaks.

A great walking food tour in Athens - This was a wonderful tour with a kind, warm and informative guide. We ate some incredible food (our bellies were so full that we strolled home for a nap afterwards). It was also a great way to see an interesting part of the city. We all thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens.

Great experience - we... - Great experience - we came hungry and left full and happy to have learned more about Greek cuisine. Orestes was a great guide and shared helpful information about Athens and Greece in general, in addition to the history and context behind the food we were trying.

I took this evening food... - I took this evening food tour with my teenage son and we had a great time. Lucas was very engaging and it was great to have someone local share some of the Greek culture. The food was good and included standard favorites like souvlaki, but also included some dished that I had not previously tried.

Local fun, yum and history! - We ended up having a private guided tour with Eleni and she was FANTASTIC! The 3+ hours flew by and were jam packed with culture, history, laughs and the most delicious food and drink. Definitely come hungry and ready to drink, learn and have a great time!

Stuffed like an olive - Konstantina gave us a brilliant introduction to the Greek cuisine. We got all the staples and explanations of when, how and where the food started. We left full, happy and educated with plans as to where and what we are eating for the rest of our trip

Exactly what we wanted and more. - My 8 year old and I took this tour on our first night in Athens. Not only was it a great introduction to the city but also a wonderful way to get our first taste of Greek food. The food was varied and plentiful. The tour guide was welcoming and knowledgeable. Exactly what we wanted and more.

Did Not Disappoint - Great Tour - Lucas was a fantastic guide introducing us to not only the foods of Athens, but their historical context. We spent several hours seeing sites and tasting wonderful foods along the way. Our sit down meal was fantastic with a sampling of charcuterie, dolmas, chicken, and tzatziki accompanied by Araki , beer and red and white wine. A really fun afternoon.

Nice Food Tour - Book Directly - Our flight got delayed, so requested Viator to help in changing our food tour to next day. THE VIATOR REP WAS COMPLETELY USELESS AND UNHELPFUL AND SAID NOTHING COULD BE DONE AND WE LOSE OUR ~$250. Kudos to the local tour company and they moved our booking to the next day without any drama. Lesson learnt, WHY PAY VIATOR 20-30% MARKUP FOR DOING NOTHING AND JUST BOOKING DIRECTLY WITH THE PROVIDER. Now 5 stars & two thumbs up to the tour operator - True Voyagers for understanding our situation and accommodating us the next day. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food tour experience and would highly recommend if you are looking for a fun basic preview of Athens street food. Since out of 5-6 tastings, two were honey tasting and a dessert stop, maybe adding one or two more tasting stops would make this a 5 star experience. However would highly recommend and I would do it again next time I am in Athens. Would suggest you book directly with True Voyagers and not pay Viator a fee for doing nothing. I use them all the time, but maybe not anymore !!!
