- South Slope of the Acropolis of Athens - Every captivating story begins with an introduction. Narrating the tale of one of the world’s most historically significant cities is no simple task. However, the aim is to provide guests with a comprehensive perspective. Therefore, the tour commences with a brief lesson on the origins of human civilization, positioning ancient Greek civilization—and Athens in particular—within this context, allowing visitors to truly appreciate its significance and contributions.
- Theater of Dionysus - The first landmark encountered on the ascent to the Acropolis is the Theatre of Dionysus, the inaugural theatre in human history. This is the birthplace of theatre and drama, where the earliest plays—tragedies and comedies—were performed for the Athenian audience. These plays were penned by some of history’s most renowned writers, including Sophocles, Euripides, and Aeschylus.
- Herod Atticus Odeon - The next destination is the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, constructed by the city’s benefactor and esteemed philosopher of the 2nd century AD in memory of his late wife.
- Temple of Athena Nike - Upon reaching the main entrance of the Acropolis sanctuary, visitors will encounter the Temple of Athena Nike, dedicated to the goddess of victory.
- Propylaea - Following this, the tour offers a view of the historically significant surrounding hills, as visitors ascend the main stairway leading into the sanctuary, all while admiring the monumental gateway of the Acropolis.
- Erechtheion - The penultimate stop is the Erechtheion, the temple of myths and legends, situated at the heart of the Acropolis sanctuary and renowned for its distinctive sculptures.
- Parthenon - Finally, visitors will behold ‘the jewel in the crown’—the Parthenon. A tribute to Athens’ patron goddess, it stands as the masterpiece of Classical-period ancient Greek architecture and the greatest technical achievement of the democratic state—a symbol of Western civilization.
- Areopagus - After exploring the Acropolis, there will be a brief 20-minute break for photographs. Following this, the tour will exit the Acropolis archaeological site and proceed to Areopagus Hill, where the tour will conclude with a view of the ancient Athenian Agora.
