Marrakech Kasbah Ait Benhaddou Ouarzazate Dades Valley
Ait Ben Haddou - Begin the journey at 8:00 AM in Marrakech, heading towards Ouarzazate via the Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2260 meters. Enjoy the stunning landscape with its vibrant natural colors and the charm of Berber villages. Visit the Ait Benhaddou kasbah, the largest in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site, famously used as a backdrop for over 20 films. After lunch at the Kasbah, continue to Dades Valley through Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa. Travel along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, stopping at Kalaat M’Gouna, renowned for its roses and annual festival in May. Spend the night in the heart of the Dades Gorge at a local riad or guest house, with dinner and breakfast included.
Dades Valley Todgha Gorges Merzouga
Merzouga Desert - After breakfast, drive through the valley to see the “monkey toes” rock formations. Depart the Dades Valley for the Todgha Valley, capturing a unique panoramic view of the ancient mud Berber villages overlooking the valley. Upon arrival at the Gorges, walk beneath the 300-meter-high red cliffs, a favorite spot for rock climbers. After lunch, continue to the Merzouga sand dunes in the Sahara Desert, where a camel awaits. Enjoy a welcome glass of mint tea and a desert scarf before embarking on a camel ride into the mysterious sand ocean of the Erg Chebbi dunes, guided by an experienced camel guide. After an hour and a half, reach the highest sand dune in Morocco to witness a breathtaking sunset. Fes - The camel guide will wake you to witness the sunrise, then return to the village of Merzouga, admiring the unique beauty of the Erg Chebbi dunes as they change with the light throughout the day. After breakfast and a hot shower at the guesthouse, depart for Fes via Errachidia, passing through the magnificent palm groves of the Ziz Valley. Stop in Zaida village for a barbecue and a refreshing glass of mint tea before continuing to Azrou, a Berber village in the Middle Atlas Mountains, to see the Barbary apes in the cedar forest. Proceed to Ifrane, known as the French village or the Switzerland of Morocco, stopping for a photo or a drink before arriving at your accommodation in Fes.
