Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou - Departing from Marrakech in the morning, travelers will journey across the High Atlas Mountains and traverse the Tizi N-tichka pass. The route leads to Ouarzazate for a visit to the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, passing through the stunning Valley of Roses. Several stops will be made to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views and capture photos of the Berber villages. The day concludes at the Dades Gorges, where the first night will be spent.
Dades Valley – Todra Gorges - Erfoud – Merzouga
Merzouga Desert - After breakfast, the journey continues along the banks of Boulmane, where a road lined with kasbahs (citadels) and ksour (fortresses or castles) unfolds. The landscape is a blend of ocher, red, and mauve hues. Stony plateaus where dromedaries graze surround the area. After a journey filled with ksour, oases, and palm trees, travelers will arrive at Tineghir, home to the spectacular Todra Gorges, situated at 1,350 meters altitude and encircled by a palm grove. The journey proceeds to Erfoud, known as the city of fossils, and after passing through Rissani, Merzouga is reached, facing the Erg Chebbi dunes. At the hotel, unnecessary items will be left behind, and the 4×4 vehicle will be exchanged for camels to venture into the desert as the sun sets, reaching the haima camp amidst the high dunes, where dinner will be served and the night will be spent under a sky full of stars.
Merzouga – Nkoub – Draa Valley – Marrakech
Marrakech - The return journey begins with a camel ride back to town for a refreshing hot shower at the hostel, followed by a visit to the exotic Rissani market, the first imperial city in Morocco and the largest market in southern Morocco. The journey continues through the Draa Valley with a visit to the Tamnagalt Kasbah, located in the heart of the Draa Valley. The High Atlas is crossed once more to arrive in Marrakech by nightfall.
