Day 1: Arrival and Aswan Nile Cruise Excursions
Temple of Philae - The operator will collect guests from their location in Aswan (Airport, Hotel, Train station, etc.) to begin the visit to Philae Temple Island. Enjoy a motorboat round trip to Egilica Island, which offers a stunning setting on the Nile. The island features several temples from the Pharaonic, Greek, and Roman periods, with the largest dedicated to Isis, the mother of Horus, the falcon-headed god.
Aswan High Dam - Travel to see the Aswan High Dam, a rock-fill dam constructed across the Nile River in Aswan between 1960 and 1970 to manage the Nile flood and generate electricity.
Unfinished Obelisk - Continue to the unfinished obelisk, located in the Aswan granite quarry. This site provides an excellent insight into the masonry techniques of ancient Egypt. Afterward, transfer to the Nile Cruise, check in for a 4-day/3-night stay. Lunch is served on board from 1 to 2:30 PM, followed by free time in the afternoon to relax.
Optional: Abu Simbel Temples / Sailing and Visit Kom-Ombo Temple
Abu Simbel Temples - There is an option to visit the renowned Abu Simbel temples, located 280 km south of Aswan. These temples were built by Ramses II at the remarkable UNESCO World Heritage site of Abu Simbel. If not visiting Abu Simbel, the morning is free. Duration: 9 hours by car / 6 hours by plane.
Temple of Kom Ombo - In the afternoon, the Nile Cruise will begin sailing towards the Kom-Ombo temple, situated on the east bank of the River Nile. Upon arrival, visit the unique double temple dedicated to both the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris. The Greco-Roman temple of Kom Ombo was constructed between 190 BC and 219 AD. Explore the nearby Crocodile Museum before returning to the Nile Cruise to sail to Edfu and stay overnight at Edfu.
Tour to Edfu Temple, Then Karnak and Luxor Temples
Temple of Horus - Enjoy a horse and carriage round trip to visit the Edfu temple, dedicated to the falcon god Horus, the son of Isis and Osiris. It is considered the best-preserved of all Egyptian temples. Appreciate the temple’s construction and the myths of ancient Egypt. Return to the Nile Cruise, with free time to relax on board while sailing to Luxor via Esna, crossing the Esna Lock, and continuing towards Luxor.
Temple of Karnak - Upon arrival in Luxor, guests will be taken to visit Karnak Temple. Walk along the avenue of sphinxes to enter Egypt’s largest religious site, built for Amon-Re, the official deity of Luxor. Discover the complex as the guide explains the rich history of Karnak Temple, including the Pylons, Courts, Hall of Columns, obelisks, Sanctuary, and more.
Luxor Temple - Proceed to visit Luxor Temple, located in the city center. The temple was once connected to Karnak Temple by a 3 km long Avenue of Sphinxes, a portion of which marks the entrance to Luxor Temple. Afterward, return to the Nile Cruise to relax or enjoy an optional Sound & Light Show at Karnak Temple, where ancient and poetic voices narrate the birth of Karnak Temple and the heroic achievements of pharaohs and god Amon. A spectacular and unforgettable evening!
Visit the Valley of the Kings & Hatshepsut Temple / Departure Transfer
Colossi of Memnon - After breakfast, disembark and start the visit to the two Colossi of Memnon, the only remnants of the funerary temple of King Amenhotep III (1386 to 1349 BC). Optional: Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Trip.
Valley of the Kings - Continue to the famous Valley of the Kings, the burial site for the kings of Thebes “Luxor” for nearly 500 years during the New Kingdom from 1550 BC to 1080 BC. Visit three tombs of the most renowned pharaohs. While here, guests can also visit the tomb of the young Pharaoh Tutankhamun, Seti I, etc. (Extra tickets available on-site).
Temple of Hatshepsut - Travel to the temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari, one of Egypt’s most striking monuments. The unique temple features three terraces built at the base of the Al Qurna mountain cliff on Luxor’s west bank.
