Temple of Philae - Begin your adventure in Aswan, where a professional guide will warmly greet you upon arrival. Start your exploration with a visit to the stunning Philae Temple, dedicated to the Goddess Isis, situated on a charming island in the Nile. Continue to the remarkable Aswan High Dam, a modern engineering marvel of Egypt, offering breathtaking views over Lake Nasser. Dinner will be served onboard, and you will stay overnight in Aswan.
Aswan High Dam - Travel to the modern marvel of Egypt, the Aswan High Dam, which began construction in 1960 and became operational in 1971. Enjoy the view of Lake Nasser, the second-largest man-made lake. Proceed to the pier of your 5-star deluxe cruise ship for check-in and lunch on board.
Abu Simbel Day Tour
Abu Simbel Temple Complex - A breakfast box will be prepared for you. At 4 am, a representative will escort you from the ship lobby for a guided group tour to the magnificent temples of Abu Simbel, dating back to the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt during the reign of the great Pharaoh Ramses II. These two rock-cut temples will be explained by a local guide who will also assist you in capturing the best photos. The distance from Aswan to Abu Simbel is about 290KM. Return to Aswan for lunch, and the ship will depart the city, sailing down the Nile to Kom Ombo city.
Temple of Kom Ombo - Officially, the city of Kom Ombo belongs to Aswan province, located 55KM south of Aswan. The ship will dock at the city for a one-and-a-half-hour tour of the dual temple of Kom Ombo and the Crocodile Museum, which are within walking distance as the temple is located on the riverbank. Return to the ship for dinner and set sail to Edfu city.
Sailing Down the Nile
Temple of Horus - After breakfast, your guide will accompany you to the Temple of the God Horus by horse carriage. It is the second-largest and best-preserved temple in Egypt, built in 237 BC. Enjoy a two-hour visit, then take the horse carriage back to the ship. Spend the rest of the day enjoying the sail along the Nile and observing the life of locals living by the riverbanks until reaching the city of Esna, which marks the beginning of Luxor province borders. Cross the Esna lock and continue navigating down the Nile to Luxor city.
Welcome to Luxor
Valley of the Kings - After breakfast, check out. You can leave your luggage on the ship if your departure from the city is later in the day, or keep it in the vehicle if you wish to be dropped off elsewhere after the tour. If traveling to Hurghada or Marsa Alam, arrangements for a private transfer or drop-off at the bus station can be made. Enjoy a full-day tour of Luxor’s most famous attractions, including the Valley of the Kings tombs, the royal cemetery of the New Kingdom Pharaohs from the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties, 3500 years ago. The guide will help you choose the best-preserved tombs, as the ticket provided allows access to only 3 out of 65 tombs. Some tombs, like King Tutankhamun’s, Ramses VI’s, and King Seti I’s, are not included in the regular ticket and require an extra charge.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - A short 10-minute drive from the Valley of the Kings takes you to the funerary temple of the first female Pharaoh of ancient Egypt, Queen Hatshepsut, a unique building in a spectacular location.
Colossi of Memnon - Visit the giant statues of the great King Amenhotep III and the ruins of the largest temple ever built in ancient Egypt. Enjoy seeing the latest discoveries on the city’s west bank. Lunch is on your own, with recommendations for highly-rated local restaurants provided by your guide. Then, drive to Luxor city’s east bank.
Temple of Karnak - Your guide will accompany you to the largest national monument, Karnak Temples, a complex built by different kings and dedicated to the main god worshipped by ancient Egyptians, Amun Ra. It is recommended to have at least 30 minutes of free time after the guide’s explanation for meditation and photography.
Luxor Temple - Conclude your experience at Luxor Temple, a cult temple built by various kings over different periods, starting during the reign of King Amenhotep III in 1320 BC, with contributions from Alexander the Great and Roman emperors. Some structures date back to the early Christian and Islamic eras. After the tour, you can be dropped off at any hotel in Luxor city, Luxor train station, or Luxor airport, or return to the cruise ship to relax until pick-up two hours before your flight. If traveling to Hurghada city or Marsa Alam, a private transfer can be arranged at the best price, with at least a day’s notice.
