- Aswan High Dam - Begin your adventure with a convenient pickup from your Aswan hotel, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide who will share fascinating insights throughout your tour. The Aswan High Dam, a rock-fill embankment dam, is situated in Aswan, Egypt. Constructed between 1960 and 1970 and completed in 1971, the dam is located on the Nile River, just south of Aswan, and creates Lake Nasser, one of the world’s largest artificial lakes. The dam’s purposes include generating hydroelectric power, flood control, and providing irrigation water for agriculture. Additionally, the reservoir has been a source of electricity for over four decades. The dam has significantly influenced Egypt’s environment and economy, as well as the countries downstream.
- Unfinished Obelisk - The Unfinished Obelisk, located in the northern stone quarries of Aswan, Egypt, is the largest known ancient obelisk. It was likely intended for Heliopolis but was abandoned before completion. If finished, it would have reached approximately 42 meters (138 feet) in height. The Unfinished Obelisk offers valuable insights into the methods used by ancient Egyptian stonemasons to quarry and shape massive stones.
- Temple of Philae - The Temple of Philae, an ancient Egyptian temple complex, is located on Philae Island in Aswan, Egypt. Dedicated to the goddess Isis, it was among the last ancient Egyptian temples constructed. Built during the Ptolemaic period (305–30 BC) and used until the Roman period (30 BC–395 AD), the complex includes a main temple, two smaller temples, a birth house, and a kiosk. The main temple, surrounded by a large courtyard, features an impressive entrance gate with two towers. Inside are numerous chambers, including a sanctuary, an offering hall, and several other rooms. The smaller temples honor Hathor and Horus-Re. The birth house is where Isis is said to have given birth to Horus, and the kiosk was likely used for water-related rituals.
