- Howard Carter House - Next, visit the domed mud-brick house where Howard Carter resided during his search for Tutankhamun’s tomb. Surrounded by a garden on a barren slope above the road from Deir Al Bahari to the Valley of the Kings, the house has been restored and adorned with excavation pictures and tools. An exact replica of Tutankhamun’s burial chamber has been constructed at the garden’s edge, along with an exhibition about the tomb’s discovery.
