Hurghada to Aswan
Aswan - In the morning, the tour guide will accompany travelers in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle to the stunning city of Aswan, a journey of approximately 4 hours. Upon arrival, the guide will lead a visit to Aswan’s High Dam, a significant achievement of the 20th century in Egypt. The dam contains 18 times the material used in the Great Pyramid of Cheops and supplies Egypt with water and electricity, protecting the country from the destructive floods of the Nile River. Next, visitors will explore the Temple of Isis at Philae, which began construction during the reign of Ptolemy II and was completed by Roman emperors. This temple is dedicated to the goddess Isis, revered as the mother of the god Horus and the consort of God Osiris. Afterward, guests will be transferred to a hotel in Aswan for an overnight stay.
Abu Simbel
Abu Simbel - At 4:00 am, guests will depart from their hotel to visit Abu Simbel, home to the renowned Great and Small temples of King Ramses II and his wife Queen Nefertari. The temples are spectacularly carved into solid rock above the Nile River’s banks. This complex is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the “Nubian Monuments,” extending from Abu Simbel to Philae near Aswan. It is believed that the temple’s axis was designed by ancient Egyptian architects so that on October 22 and February 22, sunlight would illuminate the sanctuary’s sculptures, except for the statue of Ptah, the god associated with the Underworld, who remained in shadow. These dates are thought to mark the king’s birthday and coronation day. The group will return to Aswan around 1 pm.
