Arrival in Aswan - Nile Cruise and Aswan Day Tour

Aswan Governorate - Upon reaching Aswan, a representative from Pharaohn Tours will greet you at your hotel, the Aswan airport, or the railway station. You will then be transferred to your luxurious 5-star Nile cruise, where a delightful lunch awaits you on board. Following lunch, you will explore the High Dam and Philae Temple before returning to the cruise for dinner and a folkloric show. Overnight accommodation will be in Aswan. If your arrival or pick-up time is early, it is advisable to commence the tour immediately to avoid waiting for the cruise check-in at 12:00 PM and to escape the heat.

Aswan High Dam - Start your day tour with a visit to the remarkable High Dam, built in 1960 to shield Egypt from flooding and to generate electricity. This engineering marvel is truly impressive, measuring 3600 meters in length, 980 meters in base thickness, and 111 meters in height at its tallest point. The dam holds back Lake Nasser, the world’s largest man-made lake, providing irrigation water and electricity for all of Egypt. Afterward, travel 13 kilometers south of Aswan to visit the stunning Philae Temple.

Temple of Philae - Journey to the scenic Philae Temple, a Greco-Roman temple dedicated to the goddess Isis. Access the temple via a small motorboat, as it is located on Agilika Island just south of the old Aswan Dam. The temple complex was relocated to its current site after the construction of the High Dam threatened to submerge it permanently. Careful reconstruction preserved the original appearance and layout of the complex, including landscaping the island to resemble its former location. During the Ptolemaic Dynasty, Philae was the center of the cult of the goddess Isis and was one of the last places where the ancient religion persisted after the arrival of Christianity in Egypt, closing only in 551 AD. The main temple on the island was later used as a church by early Christians. After your visit, return to your Nile cruise for an overnight stay in Aswan.

Abu Simbel Temple & Kom Ombo Temple

Abu Simbel Temple Complex - (optional excursion) At around 5:00 am, you will be picked up for a visit to the significant Abu Simbel temples in Upper Egypt. After the tour, return to Aswan by 1:00 pm, where your Nile cruise will set sail towards Kom Ombo. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking natural views and capture unique photos that highlight both Egyptian and Nubian cultures. Stop at Kom Ombo to visit the impressive Kom Ombo temple before continuing your journey towards Edfu. The sailing experience is truly remarkable.

Temple of Kom Ombo - Relish a delightful lunch on board before embarking on an excursion to the Temple of Kom Ombo, which is jointly dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris. This exceptional temple, devoted to Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder, features two identical entrances, hypostyle halls, and sanctuaries, with a symmetrical design that reflects the mythical connection between the two deities. Following your visit, unwind with an afternoon tea and then return to the ship for dinner. Spend the night aboard the vessel docked in Kom Ombo.

Edfu Temple & Luxor East Bank

Temple of Horus - Enjoy a delicious breakfast before immersing yourself in Egyptian culture with a visit to the Edfu temple, traveling there by horse and carriage. Take in the charming local village views on both sides of the Nile as you sail along, and enjoy a cup of Egyptian tea on the sun deck of your cruise during the journey. Pass through the famous Esna lock before arriving in Luxor at sunset. This is a perfect opportunity to explore the famous local market and try the renowned upper Egyptian sugar cane juice.

Luxor Temple - In the late afternoon, your Nile cruise will arrive at the dock, and you will be transferred to Luxor Temple on the East Bank of Luxor. This temple showcases a blend of ancient Egyptian, Christian, and Islamic features. After your visit, enjoy dinner on board the cruise and spend the night in Luxor.

Hot Air Balloon (Optional Excursion) & West Bank

Hot Air Balloon Luxor Take Off Site - At approximately 4:30 AM, you will be picked up for an incredible and unforgettable hot air balloon ride over the West Bank of Luxor. Enjoy breathtaking views of the city’s landscape and famous landmarks as you watch the sunrise illuminate the sky over the open-air museum city of Luxor. Marvel at the great temples and mountains below during your 40 to 55-minute ride. After the ride, check-out and enjoy a breakfast box.

Colossi of Memnon - After your breathtaking hot air balloon ride over the West Bank of Luxor, you will have the opportunity to stop and take photos at the Colossi of Memnon. These magnificent twin statues, depicting pharaoh Amenhotep III and two smaller statues at his feet representing his wife and mother, stand tall and proud on the horizon of Luxor. Each statue measures 60 feet in height and stands at the entrance of Amenhotep III’s mortuary temple. They were named the Colossi of Memnon due to a phenomenon produced by one of the statues after an earthquake. Originally built in the Theban Necropolis in the modern city of Luxor, these two colossal statues were made of quartzite sandstone, quarried at El-Gabal el-Ahmar near modern Cairo, and then transported over 420 miles overland to the ancient city of Thebes, where they remain after thousands of years. After the photo stop, you will then drive to the Hatshepsut Temple.

Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Explore the fascinating Queen Hatshepsut Temple and learn about her compelling story with her nephew. The temple is a stunning architectural marvel that rises from the desert plain in a series of terraces, seamlessly merging with the sheer limestone cliffs of the Theban Mountain’s eastern face. It’s almost as if nature itself had constructed this extraordinary monument. Afterward, we will proceed to visit the Kings Valley.

Valley of the Kings - Upon arrival at the Valley of the Kings, also known as the Great Place of Truth, witness the magnificent domain of the Pharaohs who once rested in great stone sarcophagi, waiting for immortality. Explore the complex and marvel at the tombs and final resting places of remarkable Egyptian kings such as Merneptah, Ramesses III, and Ramesses VI. After the tour, you will be transferred to your destination, whether it be the Luxor railway station, airport, or hotel in Luxor.
