Breathtaking temples and history - We had a wonderful time in Egypt and would like to sincerely thank both our guide, Salama, and the cruise staff. Staying on the cruise was a real pleasure - we felt very well taken care of throughout the trip. Our guide Salama has more than 20 years of experience as a guide, and we learned so much from him, not only about the historical sites but also about navigating Egyptian society and culture. We can highly recommend him and/or having your own guide, as it gives you much more flexibility, allows you to reach locations more efficiently, and makes it easier to adjust plans along the way. It is useful to know that restaurant and transport workers are very depended on tip from tourists so ensure to always have some Egyptian pounds on you. The price did not differ too much between a private guide and being a part of a bigger group. The temples were stunning and we can recommend to see some of the temples and tombs not included in this tour. However, it’s worth bearing in mind that guides often collaborate with local businesses. In our case, we visited both a perfume shop and an Egyptian ceramics workshop/store. These places seem to be quite isolated and difficult to reach without a guide, which makes it hard to research their quality or pricing in advance. As guides receive commission, there can be strong encouragement to visit these, and the sales approach can be quite intense. We ended up in a ceramic store where we initially was encouraged to just have a look, but it was difficult to leave without buying anything. The visit felt very staged: during the introduction to their craft, the seller had colleagues working behind him, echoing everything he said. As North Europeans, even though it may have been intended as entertainment, we found the experience overwhelming. Later, when browsing the store, they would not provide prices upfront when we asked, instead encouraging us to select some items first and they would give a ”good” deal. For three small candleholders, we were quoted over €200. While bargaining is expected, it remained challenging to reach reasonable prices. We understand that the candleholders might be of high quality but it does not justify those prices, in a country where the inflation is very high and prices low. In the end, it felt almost impossible to leave without making a purchase, and we left with a single but very expensive candleholder, regretting it immediately after leaving the place. When we passed the same store later on with the car, no one was sitting there working anymore, which further reinforced how staged the visit had felt. Just remember that you are never obliged to buy anything, even if you are offered drinks and an introduction. Apart from that, we are very happy with the experience: breathtaking temples, a very knowledgeable guide, and many delicious Egyptian dishes made this a truly memorable trip.

Great trip Aswan -> Luxor - We had a great trip on the river with Mostafa. Really enjoyed Aswan, stops at Kom Ombo & Edfu, and Luxor. Our guide was knowledge and thorough, whilst also giving us plenty of time/space to explore or double back as needed, and tailoring the itinerary based on our preference.

4 Day 3 Night Nile River Cruise - We booked a private tour with Egypt Unlimited Tours for February 2026. Our tour guide Emad was famous among the guides and knowledgeable at all the historical sites. The staff on the Nile were all attentive and friendly. The food was tasty - especially the desserts.

The perfect trip! - Everything about our trip was perfect from start to finish. Our guide, Mohamed Salman, took care of all the details and provided a wealth of information so we could enjoy the trip. At every site we visited, Mohamed magically produced our tickets and when we were done he cslled our driver who then magically appeared. We also appreciated that Mohamed not only provided the standard details about the temples, but also answered all our questions so that it was a completely personalized experience. He also went above and beyond by getting cough syrup for us and helping us eith our shopping. We were amazed that he stayed with us during the whole trip even though he had to travel by car and train from Aswan to Luxor to meet our ship at each stop. Our ship was also top-notch in its facilities, dining, and staff. We had never taken a river cruise before and we discovered that we loved seeing the shore go by from our large window. We highly recommend this tour and our guide, Mohamed. It is the perfect way to see all the important Egyptian temples in just a few days. I normally plan my own trips, but I never could have worked out all these details on my own. Sometimes it's worth hiring a professional guide and tour company.

Out best time in Egypt - We went on a cruise with my husband and our parents at the turn of December and January, and we chose the option with a private guide - the wonderful Salama! This trip was a dream come true for us. The cruise itself, the service, and the food on board were all of high standard, but what made us happiest was having our irreplaceable guide with us. His knowledge, punctuality, kindness, excellent organization, and the sheer number of interesting facts he shared made the experience truly unforgettable. If you’re planning this trip, make sure to ask specifically for him, you won’t regret it!

Enjoyable tour with a few challenging early starts. - Enjoyable experience with our very knowledgable and helpful guide. He was professional, flexible and courteous throughout. The cruise ship schedule led to a few very early starts. Some adjustments could help make the cruise tour timings more convenient and still manage to avoid the peak.crowds.

Cruises Aswan - Luxor - The boat was very good with rooms and a very clean set, excellent cuisine and service. The Mansour guide was great and visits to the different temples great. On the other hand by booking we do not know exactly the program and we discover it a little on the spot. In December it is the peak season and overall a lot of boats. So finally we bet from Aswan in the middle of the second day, it’s worth saying that we did 24 hours at the dock (we didn’t do any simbel more than 3 hours away) and it’s 24 hours in the most complete pollution with dozens of boats at the dock with engines en route. We made 3 temples at night (early morning and late evening) because navigation during the day and traffic jams when passing the lock, so a time at 6am for the crowd and one at 6pm and the rest in navigation (although the Nile Valley is sublime) good to see temples at night but by day it is also good. A temple could not be made so it is made the next day. Basically nice concept but gas plant (literal sense of the word) and a lot of people). And all this discovered on site! Then you have to have a good guide because each guide dictates a bit his conduct for visiting hours and visiting time. Basically very expensive to stay the nights at the dock...
