An Unforgettable Experience, Made Special by Hady - We had a fantastic experience in Egypt, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Hady.
The excursion was very well organized and everything went smoothly from beginning to end, but Hady truly made the difference. His knowledge and understanding of Egyptian history and culture are simply incredible. He explained everything in great detail and always took his time, bringing the temples to life through his stories and explanations. It wasn’t just about visiting a monument and hearing a few facts thanks to him, we were able to truly understand the history, culture, and meaning behind everything we were seeing.
His English is perfect and, above all, he has an amazing way of explaining things. Whenever we had questions, he was always happy to explain things again and made sure everyone understood.
But beyond being an excellent guide, what impressed us most was the person he is. He treated my family incredibly well, always showing so much kindness, care, and genuine warmth. He is one of those people you quickly realize is genuinely good and truly passionate about what he does. Without a doubt, he made our experience much more special.
The boat was also excellent. The crew was fantastic, the food was very good, and the entertainment throughout the cruise was great. Everything came together to make the experience even better.
If there is one person who truly made a difference during this trip, it was definitely Hady. We feel very lucky to have had him as our guide and would recommend him without hesitation. This is an experience we will remember and cherish for a long time. 🇪🇬❤️

An Unforgettable Egyptian Journey – Highly Recommended! - Our recent trip to Egypt was nothing short of spectacular. The ancient sites are truly impressive and second to none; their sheer scale and magnificence, especially considering their age, must be seen in person to be believed.
Our Exceptional Guide: Hossam
What truly elevated our experience was our tour guide, Hossam. He was incredibly knowledgeable, bringing the history of each site to life, and remarkably patient and responsible throughout the entire journey.
What we appreciated most was his deep care for his own local communities. He mindfully looked out for both the locals and us—reminding us to tip since many rely on it for their livelihood, while simultaneously ensuring we were protected and never cheated. His integrity made us feel safe and culturally responsible.
Superb Cruise Hospitality
The cruise itself delivered absolutely fantastic hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, and a highlight was definitely returning to our room each day to find creative, cute animals made out of towels. It was a delightful daily surprise that brought a huge smile to our faces and showed their incredible attention to detail.
The Itinerary & Tour Group
The Pace: The itinerary starts quite early every day, but it is entirely worth it. It is perfectly designed to ensure you cover all the key tombs and major highlights without feeling like you missed out.
The Company: We were incredibly lucky to share this journey with a fantastic group of tour companions. Everyone was fun, supportive, and brought great energy, making the entire trip deeply memorable.
If you are thinking about booking this trip, do not hesitate. Highly recommend to anyone!

Very worth a cruise trip - The staff service is good, the food is delicious and selective, helping guests to celebrate, the environment is clean and safe, the boarding is convenient, sound insulation is good, and the problem can be solved in time.

Good cruise - could be better - The boat itself was very good, rooms clean.
However, Staff were rude and we felt discriminated at times.
Food was alright for vegetarians, not many options. There were days where there was no veg gravy. But after sharing feedback, staff provided 1 veg curry after that.
Guide Hady is very knowledgeable, but we felt that the days were way too packed unnecessarily at times. We were given very less time in the sites. We used to be given a tight deadline to come back to the cruise after an outing only to be waiting in the cruise for 3 more hours before sailing. All of this could be managed better.
Also, the “mandatory” tip Hady made us pay felt forced, it’s a tip meaning it should have been discretionary, but he said it is mandatory. I don’t mind paying a tip, but they may as well include this as part of the package so it’s a fair comparison with other options.

Honest and balanced review incl prices and tips - Boat 3/5
Itinerary 3/5
Egyptologist guide 5/5
Our group were given an emotive, time-sensitive request to review the tour before it ended. I wonder if this is a standard approach that skews reviews?
Ive included below 1) what we actually did each day in detail, 2) the good and the bad, and 3) general tips if you do decide to book.
ACTUAL ITINERARY WITH PRICE DETAILS
DAY ONE
We were collected on time at 11am from our hotel by a minivan with some other friendly guests. We arrived at the boat and given a hibiscus welcome drink. Our tour guide Hady was there to greet us and from the beginning gave clear explanations of when and where we needed to meet him and the main sites we were visiting. Our group turned out to be 21 adults and 5 children. All friendly and a diverse range of ages and cultures. There were other tour groups on the boat too. Our guide and all the staff were courteous, kind, and good humoured. They took our passports at check in, and we didn’t get them back until the evening. Without this explained to us at the time, we were nervous, but it was ok in the end.
Our boat and room was older than expected and three star in terms of style / service / amenities (definitely not five star). Our bed were two twins pushed together and slid around when we slept/sat up - not exactly romantic 😂 Surfaces were a bit grubby too. But honestly, having hot water and our own shower on a boat on the Nile felt like a miracle so we were grateful!
The top deck was a highlight. A little swimming pool, loads of deck furniture. Sailing on the nile with those views is truly magical!!
We were given lunch at 1pm which was a typical western buffet lunch. Water (~100EGP), tea and coffee was extra cost which felt inappropriate. They should have a station you can help yourself at any time. Service to order drinks was also slow and disorganised. The wine (~800EGP per bottle) and coffee (80 EGP) were fine - definitely drinkable! You can also buy a bottle for them to keep at the bar for you to drink when you like. You are allocated a seat with other guests for the duration of your stay.
We met our guide at reception around 2pm and took a bus to a motor boat to the Philae Temple. The boat was fun and the site was incredible. Our guide gave a good explanation. Hady is a qualified archaeologist with a Masters degree in hieroglyphics. He really was a highlight.
On the way back advised us to tip a minimum of 500 EGP per person for the boat crew at the end of the trip (in the reception tip box), and to give him the same amount upfront to tip all the drivers etc on our behalf on outings as we go (which we happily did - we were glad not to have to think about it!). We also tipped him at the end (he wasn’t covered by either of the other amounts). I didn’t know how much but with a bit of googling landed on 1000 EGP from both of us.
We returned unexpectedly late that first evening (8:30pm) because of a one hour undisclosed stop at a perfume “museum” which was really just a sales pitch. Meaning we didnt get back until around 8:30 pm for dinner. With a 4am wake up the next day, this felt like an unnecessary extra, especially for the families with little kids who needed to eat and get to bed. Hady was likely just following company instructions, I’m not sure.
DAY TWO
The room phones were ringing from around 3am for wake up calls. With the loud music the night before, we met our sleep deprived comrades for a 4am departure to Abu Simbel. Hady kindly escorted us in a convoy of minivans. The four hour drive was gruelling, but there was a scruffy toilet stop (20EGP) that made surprisingly ok coffee (~100EGP) and we didnt have to worry about the otherwise intimidating check point because it was all taken care of. The temple was truly incredible and worth the early wake-up (don’t miss it!). We were given a breakfast pack of bread rolls with cheese, jams, a juice box and water bottle, pastries, apple and banana which seemed ample. We got back around 2:30pm and given a late lunch too (same buffet). We sailed for about two hours. I skipped the afternoon temple trip as I was too exhausted. Dinner was served at 8pm (an Egyptian buffet this time which was more interesting/tasty). The staff continued to be so lovely.
DAY THREE
Another chorus of wakeup calls and 4 am departure (😱). We had asked twice for no call from the staff but it came nonetheless. Hady met us with a smile as always and we headed in a bus to Edfu temple. We were close to the front of the queue for opening, and honestly it was incredible even with the intense crowds.
On the way back, we were asked by Hady to do a five star review that day to help secure his work. We all loved Hady so most obliged but it did make me uncomfortable/ a bit skeptical (perhaps unfairly).
We returned around 6:30am for a buffet breakfast (standard western buffet) and set sail for a few hours. The hawkers on paddle boats coming up to the cruise boats mid-sail was hilarious. We left again with Hady around 5pm for Luxor temple. Again, after an explanation we were given a bit of time to explore. Usually we were given about 30 minutes of this explore time after about 15 minutes explanation, which seemed fine for us but probably felt too rushed for some. On the way back we were taken to a papyrus “museum” for another sales pitch which meant we didn’t get back for dinner until 8:45pm. We were advised on the drive home that sadly the hot air balloons were cancelled due to the winds (understandable) so we did not need to depart until 7am the next morning.
DAY FOUR
The 3:30/4am calls came - fortunately we were missed but some of the other guests were not so fortunate and looked pretty miserable at breakfast. With a 7:30am check out and departure we headed off with Hady in a bus for an epic day out. We visited the colossi of Memnon for five minutes, the Valley of the kings for two hours (we could visit three tombs of our choosing with our ticket, plus get tickets for more if we wanted and time allowed). Unfortunately another unnecessary salesy stop at an alabaster “workshop” for about 30 minutes - precious time that could have been rest or longer at the awesome sites - and then the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut. Again Hady was excellent at all these stops but by this point our group were very tired. We went to “Paris restaurant” for a traditional Egyptian lunch which was an extra 500 EGP each (could pay cash/card) and I thought was great. Finally the Karnak temple. We were meant to be back by 2:30pm but arrived at 4pm which was a rushed departure for us for our flight. We had also been told we could pay our tickets by card at the end but I was asked to get cash out instead from a dodgy ATM which cost me 10USD which was a shame.
PROS
Sites, including temples and being on a boat on the nile in Egypt - incredible!
Things were organised for us - planning/tickets/tips - and we felt safe
Knowledge of our guide Hady
Kind, welcoming and good humour of ALL staff (guide, boat, drivers)
Hygiene - none of our tour group got sick
Reasonable price
CONS
Very difficult to sleep or rest the way the boat and tour schedule is operated
Unannounced sales pitches - could have been an extra hour sleep or precious time at sites!?
Cleanliness and dated nature of rooms/boat
Just too fast paced/tiring overall
TIPS
Expect intense crowds at most of the sites
Have Egyptian pounds not USD - and cash (for x2 pax 10,000 for tickets (5000 each), minimum 3000 for tips, and smaller notes for toilets, coffees etc.) Avoid the blue ATMS which whack you with dodgy fees.
Look up a local “supermarket” on your first day and stock up on water (1.5L for ~10EGP) and snacks - there’s even a fridge in your room 🙂
Bring earplugs!! And a pillow to snooze in vehicles.
Forget the wifi (for any tour on the Nile) and sort an eSIM for when you arrive.
Understand you will likely be in a multicultural group who will have different approaches to punctuality on the outings
Expect lots of hawkers. Just politely and repeatedly say “no thanks”
Expect for each site, the guide will provide an explanation for 10-20 mins and then 5-60 mins “free time” to explore (usually 30 minutes).
Check the approved collection AND drop offs in advance to avoid potentially stressful alternative arrangements.

Good cruise with a lot of cons - Overall it was a good cruise. The boat was nice, food good, everything well organized and Talaat Abdo an excellent tour guide (5 stars for him).
But a few things worsened the experience and made the tour feel overpriced and even a bit dodgy:
- (Mandatory) Tips upfront (30$ p.p., tip for guide excluded)
- Shopping stops (Overpriced shops/ Tourist traps)
- Refund for canceled airballon (only 800 Egp)
- Overpriced restaurant on last day (600 egp per meal)
- Late information about program for the first day
- (Mandatory) Tips upfront: At the start of the tour we were asked to already pay 30$ tips per person for the crew, drivers, etc. (Tip for the Guide excluded). It was said that the tips are "up to you" but if was kinda expected that you pay them. So plan 30$ p.p as extra costs (Which ist actually a lot if you know local salaries)
- Shopping Stops at overpriced shops / tourist traps: We had 4 stops at typical tourist shops. For the money you pay for the tour it's sad that this kind of stops are included and you can't spend the time with interesting things or that they even bring you to good stores with fair prices.
- Refund for Airballon: Our Airballon got canceled because of bad weather. The refund for it was 800 egp. This feels like a bad joke. Booking an Airballon by yourself is around 75 USD...
- Overpriced restaurant: On the last day there is no lunch included, so they bring you to a "good" restaurant. Despite the food being good the prices make it feel like a typical tourist trap (600 Egp per meal, double from what you pay for the dishes at other places)
- Late information about pick up and first day: You will get the final information for the first day just an evening before. For me it was bit unlucky because my pickup got scheduled for 11am. So i waited the whole morning just for the pick up and couldn't do anything in the city. Just to be driven 500 meters to the boat and to wait there for lunch, because the first stops where scheduled for the afternoon.
Also they added a opertunity to go to the nubian village in Aswan (for 30 USD, a bit overpriced...). Unfortunately they just told as the evening before and I already went their on my own the day before.

Worst Guide (Hady) and the Best Ruins - The Egyptian ruins were truly magnificent, and that aspect of the trip was outstanding. However, we absolutely do not recommend joining this tour if you are looking for a "proper guide." While the boat facilities and some of the staff were good, the quality of our assigned guide (Hady) was unacceptably low, and his numerous insincere actions made our experience extremely unpleasant.
[Major Issues with the Guide (Hady)]
The most important point to emphasize is that this guide is completely untrustworthy. He cannot hold a logical conversation, gives incoherent responses to dodge issues when things get inconvenient, and frequently tells petty lies.
1. Low-Quality Guide Ignoring Participants' Needs
Even though we are not fluent in English, we could understand 60-70% of what he said using a translation tool. However, the content was mostly "trivial information that he just wanted to talk about." We were forced to listen to lengthy, unnecessary explanations under the blazing sun. The important explanations we actually wanted to know—such as the historical background of the murals, the relationship between kings and gods, and the meaning of symbolic motifs—made up only 20-30% of his talk. It felt like he was just reading a script. He should have shared the basic texts in advance and only explained the most important and worthwhile points on-site.
2. Insincere Tip Demands and Aggressive Behavior
On the first day, we paid the tips after confirming with him that "all tips are included." Despite this, he demanded additional tips on the third day. When I pointed out the inconsistency, he insisted, "It's for other staff, you must have misheard me on the first day" (which was 100% his incorrect explanation).
When I continued to point this out, he lost his temper. We never said "we don't want to pay"; we simply wanted to clarify the facts. Nevertheless, he arbitrarily assumed we didn't want to pay, snatched the envelope containing the tips we gave him on the first day, and returned it to us in a completely incomprehensible reaction. The next day, he told us to pay the drivers directly. Why did he forcefully return the tips he had already accepted? His actions made no sense.
Furthermore, during this argument, he repeatedly interrupted me. When I used a gesture to say, "Let me speak for a second," our hands touched. He then twisted this into a delusional claim that he was "assaulted and insulted" and demanded a one-sided apology.
3. Intimidating Attitude (Trouble during Balloon Cancellation)
We participated as a group of four, including one elderly person with bad knees. Since the balloon ride would be difficult for the elderly person, we requested to cancel for them and one other person. The day before, we informed him that the remaining two also wanted to cancel. We were then told that "except for the elderly person, the cancellation request is too late, so no refund can be made."
This "no refunds within 24 hours" rule was never explained to us beforehand; it was brought up as an afterthought. Although the guide should have explained this in advance, we compromised, admitting we could have checked the deadline ourselves, and settled on two people participating.
The real issue was the guide's attitude during this discussion. The moment I said, "That doesn't seem right," he glared at me intimidatingly and aggressively said, "Do you have a problem?" This is no way to treat a customer.
4. Forced Visit to a Shady Souvenir Shop & Suspected Kickbacks
We understand that tours often include visits to souvenir shops. However, it was highly annoying that he hid this pre-planned visit until the very last minute, suddenly taking us there during our visit to Luxor and Karnak Temples on the third day. Had we been informed in advance, we could have planned our actions accordingly, such as timing our restroom breaks at the shop.
Furthermore, the place we were taken to was a shady shop that doesn't even exist on Google Maps. Many participants were hesitant, but we were forced to enter. At that time, I clearly saw the shop staff secretly handing money (a kickback?) to our guide, Hady. Also, he frequently urged us to buy things from street vendors who seemed to be his acquaintances, which was a complete waste of time.
5. Lack of Communication & Schedule Management Skills
Hady has a very bad habit of only saying what he wants to say and ignoring what he doesn't. Despite having a WhatsApp group, he often ignored our messages when we asked important questions, such as when we would receive the itinerary or whether meeting times would be changed.
He stubbornly insisted on giving crucial instructions only "verbally" in the group. As a result, many participants got lost or misunderstood the meeting times, but he never learned from his mistakes. His handling of the group was incredibly poor, including his failure to properly manage participants who were repeatedly late.
[Overall Tour and Facility Reviews]
Inadequate Itinerary: The itinerary provided was far too simplistic, without even a proper daily time schedule. At the Valley of the Kings, we were left waiting at the entrance for an unknown reason due to terrible planning.
Harsh Transportation: The bus for the 6-hour round-trip to Abu Simbel was far too small and uncomfortable for such a long journey.
Boat Facilities and Food: The boat was clean and some staff were friendly, but the breakfast was not tasty. The noise and vibrations from the evening music events were also a problem. The free Wi-Fi was unreliable and showed "limit reached" errors prematurely.
Hot Air Balloon: The view was monotonous compared to places like Cappadocia, especially in cloudy weather.
[Summary]
Just as you need to protect yourself from aggressive touts around the Pyramids, you need to "record everything" when dealing with this guide to protect yourself.
On our final day today, when parting ways, he proposed to me: "Tomorrow we will go our separate ways, so let's forget about this whole thing."
I actually agree with him on this point. Since we are in the middle of an amazing journey, I want to quickly reset these unpleasant memories and truly enjoy the rest of my trip starting tomorrow.
Therefore, while my memory is still fresh today, I am writing down the facts exactly as they happened in this review. Starting tomorrow, I will completely forget about this guide.
It was a tour with an extreme gap between the magnificence of the ruins and the low quality of the guide. If you are considering joining, please be fully prepared for the risks if you get a bad guide.

Don't be fooled by a false review. - I traveled twice through this travel company. At first, we had a really good experience with a professional guide and found this travel agent again with our family. But during the holy season, the guide seems to be all out. In front of the guests during the tour were cigarettes and tips ($25 per person from the first day). I talked to the manager, but I don't know if it was handled properly.
