It is believed that this obelisk was intended for Queen Hatshepsut, a ruler of the 18th Dynasty and the royal wife of King Tuthmosis II. She was also the owner of a temple on the eastern bank of Luxor. Some also believe it may have belonged to Queen Nefertiti.
