- Spiaggia Rosa - Capture stunning photos in front of one of the world’s most enchanting and protected beaches: the renowned Pink Beach, a breathtaking natural wonder. The Pink Beach is part of the Maddalena Geomarine National Park, an area of immense natural significance. Due to its special protection, walking on the beach or swimming along its shore is not permitted. Located just north of Spargi, the island is famed for its legendary Pink Beach. The coral-colored sand, vibrant sea hues, and the granite formations surrounding the cove create a unique global spectacle. It is a natural monument to be admired in reverent silence.
The Pink Beach of Budelli, famously captured by director Michelangelo Antonioni in a lengthy sequence in the film “Red Desert,” is situated southeast of Budelli Island in the La Maddalena Archipelago. It is named for its distinctive coral pink color.
- Isola di Spargi - Enjoy a stop at one of the island’s stunning bays, the first destination in the Maddalena Archipelago, where snorkeling and swimming in the crystal-clear turquoise waters lead to the island’s fantastic white beaches.
- Porto della Madonna - The Port of the Madonna, or Manto della Madonna, is located in the northern part of the archipelago, nestled between the islands of Budelli, Razzoli, and Santa Maria. It features a breathtaking expanse of crystal-clear water, resembling a natural swimming pool, with small beaches of fine white sand facing a clear and transparent sea. Some coves allow swimming, while others are restricted to preserve this extraordinary natural wonder.
-
Parco Nazionale dell’Arcipelago di La Maddalena - Razzoli and Santa Maria
These islands are nearly connected by the Asinelli Pass. Razzoli Island, the most northerly, is striking with its majestic cliffs and rock formations reminiscent of Moore’s sculptures. The lighthouse overlooking the Strait of Bonifacio is both imposing and captivating. Santa Maria hosts an ancient convent where, in the Middle Ages, Benedictine monks fleeing Bonifacio found refuge. It boasts a beautiful beach, Cala Santa Maria, one of the largest in the Archipelago. In the tranquility of Santa Maria, screenwriter Franco Solinas, one of the most esteemed authors of world cinema, penned many pages of significant Italian cinema. In the allure of these places rests Gian Maria Volontè, who sails alone among the islands and in the Archipelago’s fierce winds.
The Porto Madonna
This lagoon, with its emerald sea enclosed between the islands of Budelli, Razzoli, and S. Maria, is undoubtedly the most captivating spot in the Park.
