Arusha to Tarangire National Park…
Arrival in Arusha
Arusha - Upon arriving at either Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, a driver will greet you and transport you to your hotel. You also have the option to explore the city with a tour that includes visits to the Cultural Heritage art gallery, local market, and Maasai Market.
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, a safari guide will collect you from your hotel in Arusha and drive you to Tarangire National Park for a game drive and picnic lunch. The park, named after the Tarangire River that flows through it, is famous for its large elephant herds, massive baobab trees, and numerous predators. There is an abundance of sights and experiences to enjoy here!
Journey to Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara - Following breakfast, the tour heads to Lake Manyara National Park. This compact park offers stunning views and a diverse range of habitats, including acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab-strewn cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps, and the lake itself. These environments support a wide variety of animal species and remarkable birdlife. Manyara boasts the world’s largest concentration of baboons, and its lions are famous for their tree-climbing behavior. Dinner and overnight stay are at Ngedere Lodge.
Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - This day is dedicated to game driving in the Serengeti. The park is home to a wealth of wildlife, including impalas, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos, but is most renowned for its massive migrating herds of zebras and wildebeest. The wildebeest and zebras migrate in November and December from the northern woodlands and hills to the southern grassy plains. During the rainy season from April to June, they return north. Dinner and overnight stay are at Nyani Campsite.
Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands
Serengeti National Park - Rise early for a game drive in Serengeti National Park, where you might spot wildebeest, lions, elephants, leopards, impalas, gazelles, cheetahs, and possibly witness the wildebeest migration before enjoying brunch. Then, pack your bags to continue to Ngorongoro. An en-route game drive from Serengeti to Ngorongoro will have you arriving late in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay are at Ngorongoro Simba Campsite on the crater rim.
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Ngorongoro Crater - After an early breakfast, head straight to the crater floor for a 6-hour game viewing session to see the Big Five animals, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and possibly black rhinos. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater at Ngoitoktok Spring. You will also encounter other mammals such as hippos, giraffes, warthogs, baboons, and various birds.
After approximately 6 hours, ascend the crater rim and return to Arusha with an en-route game drive through Mto wa Mbu village. In the evening, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Arusha town.
Excursion to Materuni Waterfalls - Departure
Materuni Waterfalls and Coffee Tour - Begin your day with a picturesque drive from Arusha to Materuni Village, where the adventure starts with a guided hike through lush greenery and local farms to the stunning 80-meter Materuni Waterfall. After taking in the view and possibly enjoying a refreshing swim, return to the village for an engaging coffee tour, where you’ll learn about the traditional Chagga process of making coffee, from picking to roasting and tasting. Afterwards, savor a delicious local lunch, relax, and then either head back to Arusha or proceed directly to the airport, depending on your travel plans.
