Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - Day 2: Karatu to Serengeti National Park
Following an early breakfast, the journey proceeds to Serengeti National Park, passing through the village and ascending the Ngorongoro highlands. A quick stop at a crater viewpoint is optional.
The scenic drive continues through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering breathtaking views of rolling hills, volcanic craters, and wildlife. An optional visit to Olduvai Gorge, a renowned archaeological site, is available at an extra cost.
Arriving in the Serengeti by early afternoon, the first game drive begins in this iconic park, celebrated for its vast plains and the Great Migration. The central region (Seronera) is teeming with wildlife year-round, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalos, and large herds of herbivores.
Reach the camp before sunset to relax, enjoy dinner, and immerse in the sounds of the wild under a starry sky.
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Itinerary:
Start the day with an early sunrise game drive, the prime time to observe predators in action. The golden morning light offers one of Africa’s best photographic opportunities.
Return to camp for breakfast, followed by a short game drive as you exit the Serengeti. While traveling back through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, an optional stop at a Maasai boma (village) is available to learn about traditional Maasai life (entrance fee may apply).
Arrive at the lodge in the late afternoon. If staying on the Crater rim, enjoy sweeping views of the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dinner and overnight stay in the cooler highland climate.
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha Town
Arusha - After an early breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural amphitheater and one of Africa’s premier safari destinations. The Crater is home to nearly all of East Africa’s big game, including the Big Five: lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, and the endangered black rhino.
Enjoy a half-day crater game drive, observing animals in the grasslands, lakes, and forested areas of the crater floor. Keep an eye out for hippos, hyenas, jackals, ostriches, and more. A picnic lunch will be served at a scenic crater site, likely near the hippo pool.
In the early afternoon, ascend the Crater and begin the return drive to Kilimanjaro International Airport, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening, just in time for the onward flight.
