Ngorongoro to Central Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - Start your day early with the enchanting sounds of the African bush and enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting off on a full-day game drive across the Serengeti plains. Serengeti National Park (North Mara)

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast at the camp, set out with your picnic lunch for a game drive to witness the great migration. The resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area, with lion prides up to 30 strong. From August to October, the area transforms into a wildlife paradise. The Mara River is a key feature, and it’s not uncommon to see herds crossing the river north one day and back south a few days later. Please note - witnessing a crossing can be challenging and sometimes depends on luck.

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, enjoy a full day of game viewing at the Mara River, observing the great migration river crossing. In the evening, return to the camp for an evening bonfire, dinner, and overnight stay. River crossings at Kogatende begin to occur daily in August as the mega herd settles in the area. From August to October, game viewing here is exceptional, with river crossings almost guaranteed every day. There is no distinct movement as the herds tend to cross back and forth over the river, following the rains and fresh grasses. It’s not uncommon to see different herds crossing in various directions on the same day.

Serengeti National Park - Departure

Arusha - As your Serengeti Great Migration Safari concludes, enjoy a final game drive through the park, bidding farewell to the wildlife and landscapes that have captivated you. After breakfast, you’ll be transferred back to the Kogatende Airstrip for your flight to Arusha. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport for your journey home.
