Arusha - Lake Manyara National Park:
Lake Manyara National Park - Following breakfast, the operator will be picked up from the hotel at 8:30 AM to embark on a scenic journey across the Great Rift Valley for a full-day game drive. Despite its modest size (205 sq. miles), the park is renowned for its stunning scenery, lush acacia forest, giant figs, and mahogany trees, as well as a thriving population of baboons and blue monkeys. The park is also home to giraffes, elephants, impalas, and a large number of buffaloes. The lake hosts numerous hippos. The landscapes of Lake Manyara are indescribable, and the game drives along the lake offer breathtaking photo opportunities of giraffes and buffaloes with the lake as a backdrop. Additional tours, such as a bike tour or a boat excursion, are available. In the afternoon, the operator will drive to Marera Valley Lodge.
NOTE: This park can be replaced with Tarangire National Park, or an extra day can be added to visit both.
Cultural Heritage Centre - Located in Arusha, Tanzania, the Arusha Cultural Heritage Centre showcases the past and present of Tanzania’s 120-plus tribes in one location. The center features various carvings, gemstones, artifacts, clothing, and books.
Serengeti National Park:
Serengeti National Park - After an early breakfast, the operator will depart for the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. The drive, though lengthy, is spectacular and unforgettable for first-time visitors. As the operator ventures deeper into the Serengeti, the meaning of its name, “endless plains,” becomes evident. The park spans 6,900 sq. miles (18,000 sq. km), with plains stretching to the horizon, challenging the senses and perception of distances. It is home to the Great Migration, with 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and various antelopes. For Big Cats and large predators, it’s the ideal place to spot lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas, with many famous river crossings filmed here.
Olduvai Gorge Museum - The Olduvai Gorge Site Museum is located six kilometers from the main road junction, where the Zinjanthropus monument stands en route to Serengeti National Park. Situated on the edge of the Gorge’s bank, the museum overlooks the famous rock castle in the Gorge’s midsection, at the confluence of the side and mini gorge river valleys. Positioned on the rim of the Gorge, 5 kilometers beyond the monument, at the intersection of the main Gorge and the side gorge, it is one of the few onsite museums. The museum offers extensive archaeological and cultural exhibits related to the Gorge, as well as research on its history, discoveries, and overall history to the present day.
Full Day Serengeti National Park:
Serengeti National Park - Spend a full day in Serengeti National Park. The itinerary is flexible and will be tailored to the operator’s preferences. Each day of the safari, the guide will discuss the best timings for activities, including game drives and wake-up times. For instance, the operator could opt for a morning game drive, return to the camp for lunch and relaxation, and conclude with an afternoon game drive, or choose a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority:
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - An early wake-up is recommended to enjoy an early morning game drive when animals are most active and witness one of the most breathtaking sunrises. After the game drive, the operator will return to the camp for a rewarding brunch, then proceed to Ngorongoro, the 8th wonder of the Natural World. The crater covers 102 sq. miles and has 2,000 ft high walls, resembling Noah’s ark and housing nearly every species of wildlife native to East Africa. It’s one of the few places on the continent where the Black Rhino can be seen. The crater features a river, swamps, a soda lake with a high concentration of flamingos, a forest, and open plains. It’s also renowned for its elephants, the largest in the world with enormous tusks. Ngorongoro Crater is truly a Wonder of the Natural World. The operator will arrive at Ngorongoro in time for a sundowner.
Ngorongoro Crater Tour - Drive Back to Arusha:
Ngorongoro Crater - The day will begin early with a descent into the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife viewing in one of the most stunning places on Earth. After the game drive, there will be time for a picnic lunch near the beautiful hippo Lake. Following lunch, there will be a short game drive before ascending the crater and exiting Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Arusha. The operator is expected to return to Arusha around 5 pm and can overnight at Tulia Boutique Hotel & Spa on a Bed and Breakfast basis.
