Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - Known for its large elephant population, wildlife migration, and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire offers breathtaking views. The park is also famous for its tree-climbing African pythons. As the sixth largest national park in Tanzania, following Ruaha, Serengeti, Mikumi, Katavi, and Mkomazi, Tarangire is a favored spot on a Tanzania Safari. The park is named after the majestic Tarangire River that flows through its stunning landscape.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - The great migration here is the world’s second-longest overland migration, covering approximately 800 km (500 mi). The southern part of this route includes the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where about half a million wildebeest are born between January and March. By March, as the dry season begins, around 1.5 million wildebeest and 250,000 zebras start migrating north towards Maasai Mara in Kenya. They are joined by common eland, plains zebra, and Thomson’s gazelle. In April and May, the herds traverse the Western Corridor. To reach Maasai Mara, they must cross the Grumet and Mara Rivers, where approximately 3,000 crocodiles await. For every wildebeest caught by crocodiles, 50 drown. As the dry season concludes in late October, the herds begin their journey back south. Annually, around 250,000 wildebeests and 30,000 plains zebras perish due to drowning, predation, exhaustion, thirst, or disease.

In total, over 26,000 large mammals and 500 bird species inhabit the crater.
