A fantastic experience, in an iconic place on the planet, with a five-star agency. - THE JOURNEY Our journey began in Zanzibar. The company arranged for us to fly directly to the Serengeti. At Seronera Airport, which hosts small domestic flights, we met our guide: Julias, who took us to the most iconic nature park in the world. THE GUIDE Julias told us all about the animals we met, from the warthog to the lion to the rhino, the elephant and I'm not going to number them all. He has an incredible knowledge of the park and animal habits and this allowed us to see all the animals present in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro area. He explained their behaviors: why they migrate, why different species are together and how they help each other and so on. I had already heard something in various documentaries but its preparation is really worth it. He was also attentive to all our needs and also took care to help us make contact with the post safari accommodation. THE MACHINE Ours was a private tour so we enjoyed the comfort of the car all to ourselves but it was really big and comfortable even for six people. THE HOUSING The first Lodge we slept in was in the Serengeti, inside the park. A beautiful tented camp. The tent looked like an extra luxury room with a shower and hot water but we are in the park and it is correct towards those who live there not to overdo the use of water that is always little. But if you want there is also a bathtub:D The second was just outside the Ngorongoro in Karatu town. It's nothing short of gorgeous, with the pool and everything you could wish for. ASSISTANCE Kiliclimb was really so attentive to every detail. Since before booking he answered all our questions with professionalism and kindness. They explained in detail what to bring and how to dress. What the trip would be like and where we would stay. Everything they told us turned out to be correct in every detail so we had no surprises. After the safari we stayed in touch and they were concerned about how our stay in Arusha was going until we returned home to Italy. THE VILLAGE MASAI Between the Serengeti and Ngorongoro there are several Maasai villages. We had the pleasure of visiting one. Obviously they are used to welcoming tourists, with their Welcoming dance (which they made us do too!) and with small artifacts that you can buy to help the village sustain itself. It is evident that this is a Welcoming addressed to tourists but they are very proud of their way of life and have told us how their day and their life in general unfolds. The youngest of them speak English as well as Swhaili and answered all our questions about their lifestyle. Then since I was Italian they asked me about the Pope:D THE SAFARI I had the pleasure of visiting an iconic place. It's a place I've heard about my whole life, from the first nature documentaries I saw as a child. Seeing him live was moving. The spaces are so large that a dot “down there” is a herd of elephants! I was afraid to have the feeling of being a disturbance to the animals but they are absolutely quiet and respected by both the park managers and the drivers themselves. In this regard, I would like to emphasize that in no park you can do the off-piste just so as not to disturb the animals, which however often and willingly cross you spontaneously the road! In short, an experience that those who are passionate about animals must do at least once in their lives.
The only real problem is that once done you want to do it again. THE PHOTOS A tip for those who love photography but are not a professional like me. I used for the photos I attach a nikon 70-300 lens. The sky was almost always cloudy so even at dawn and dusk the colors were not so great but we didn't even have too hard shadows during the day. If you are not as experienced as me consider that if even a single person inside the jeep moves, even when the engine is off, photos can be blurred with this distance. Always ask your guide to turn off the engine otherwise you will not be able to catch anything. Also as mentioned before the distances are immense and maybe you have only one chance to see two young cheetahs, especially on such a short safari! If you can do that, invest in a bigger zoom with a great stabilizer. Even with mine you'll still have the opportunity to take home a nice memory but it can be frustrating to have come all that way and miss the opportunity by a whisker. The photos below are exactly as I took them

Wow what an unforgettable experience - From the moment we first enquired with Kiliclimb African Safaris, to the moment we were dropped off at Arusha airport and met in Zanzibar to be taken back to our hotel, the service and experience has been above all of our expectations. Moses and his team did an exceptional job of understanding what we wanted to do, answering questions quickly along the way, no matter how small. The briefing we had two days before our safari was so reassuring to meet the team and also our fab guide Ombeni. And wow what we can say our 3 day trip to the serengeti and ngorongoro crater including the accommodation’s was superb. Ombeni made sure we had the best time out on safari, spotting animals and making sure we got great views of them. He was so knowledgable, fun and engaging and just all round great person. Moses also met us as our trip ended to make sure that our expectations had been met! Could not recommend Kiliclimb Africa Safaris enough - we will be booking with them again.
