Arusha to Tarangire
Tarangire National Park - Following breakfast, the journey begins towards Serengeti National Park, passing through the picturesque highland farms of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As the highlands fade away, the adventure leads into the heart of wild Africa, the Serengeti National Park, with its vast plains stretching endlessly. The destination is the central part of the park, known as Seronera, renowned for its rich wildlife habitats. Here, the Seronera River serves as a crucial water source, attracting a diverse array of wildlife representative of the Serengeti’s species. Arrival is timed for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at the Seronera Camp [Nguchiro campsite].
Lake Manyara National Park
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, departure from the campsite is scheduled for 8:30 am, heading towards Lake Manyara National Park with a picnic lunch. A full-day game drive is planned before proceeding to Twiga campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.
Stretching 50km along the base of the rusty-gold 600-meter high Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic treasure, praised by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa.” The compact game-viewing circuit through Lake Manyara offers a microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience. From the entrance gate, the road meanders through lush, jungle-like groundwater forest where large baboon troops lounge by the roadside, blue monkeys dart between ancient mahogany trees, dainty bushbuck tread cautiously through the shadows, and oversized forest hornbills honk loudly in the high canopy.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, early in the morning, the driver guide will transport you from Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park. Set out for the endless open plains and stunning skies of the Serengeti. A scenic four-hour drive, followed by a full-day game drive and a late evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at Seronera Campsite [Nguchiro campsite].
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - Embark on an early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, followed by a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at the Seronera camping site.
The enduring game-viewing experience is complemented by the liberating sense of space that defines the Serengeti Plains, stretching across sunburnt savannah to a shimmering golden horizon. After the rains, this golden expanse of grass transforms into an endless green carpet dotted with wildflowers. The landscape also features wooded hills, towering termite mounds, rivers lined with fig trees, and acacia woodland tinged orange by dust.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, enjoy an early morning game drive along the Sogore River circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River. This is an excellent spot for observing lions, gazelles, topis, ostriches, and cheetahs. The Visitor Center, near the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites, is worth visiting after the morning game drive. This well-designed center offers intriguing wildlife displays and a gift shop where information leaflets and maps of the area can be purchased. In the afternoon, follow the Kopjes circuit, going counterclockwise around the Maasai Kopjes. This tour offers the chance to see more lions and some impressively large cobras. Dinner and an overnight stay at the Seronera Camp.
Serengeti to Ngorongoro
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. A stopover at Olduvai Gorge reveals history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here that anthropologists Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of “Nutcracker Man” and “Handy Man,” both significant links in the chain of human evolution. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch, then descend over 600m into the crater for a half-day safari tour to view the wildlife. Dinner and an overnight stay at Ngorongoro Simba Campsite.
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Ngorongoro Crater - After an early breakfast, proceed directly to the Crater floor for a 6-hour game viewing session inside the crater, with sights of the Big Five animals, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and possibly black rhinoceros. Picnic lunches will be enjoyed at Ngoitoktok spring, where other large mammals such as hippopotami, giraffes, warthogs, baboons, and birds can also be seen. After approximately 6 hours, ascend the crater rim and head to Arusha, with an en-route game drive via Mto wa Mbu village. Arrive at the hotel in Arusha town in the evening. At the end of the tour, guests will be dropped off at the airport.
