Tarangire National Park (Arusha to Tarangire National Park)
Tarangire National Park - The trip starts early in the morning (between 05:30 and 06:00) with a 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, located about 140 km from Arusha. Famous for its elephant population, Tarangire offers exceptional game viewing and a unique blend of nature and Maasai culture. During the dry season, elephants are particularly abundant.
Enjoy lunch in the park while observing the elephant herds.
Afterwards, guests will be transferred to their lodge for dinner, relaxation, and an overnight stay.
Mto wa Mbu - The vibrant farming community of Mto Wa Mbu, situated between Manyara and Ngorongoro, is home to approximately 18,000 people. This cultural melting pot is one of the few places in Tanzania where all 120 tribes live harmoniously together. Despite its name, which translates to ‘Mosquito River’ due to the village’s permanent water source, there are fortunately not many mosquitoes.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area - On the way to Serengeti, travelers will pass through the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest caldera.
Serengeti National Park - After an early breakfast, the spectacular safari continues from Karatu to Serengeti National Park, a 2-hour drive. With packed lunch ready, guests will enter Serengeti, renowned for its vast plains, abundant wildlife, and the spectacular Great Migration. Experience unparalleled game viewing as herds of wildebeest, zebras, and predators are observed in their natural habitat. The park is also home to the endangered East African oryx, one of the rarest species in the Serengeti ecosystem. Enjoy lunch in the park before being transferred to the hotel/lodge for a hot bath, warm dinner, and a cozy overnight stay.
Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Serengeti National Park - Today, visitors will explore the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the world’s largest unbroken caldera. Formed over 2.5 million years ago after a massive volcanic eruption, the Ngorongoro Crater is about 610 meters deep and rich in both natural beauty and historical significance, often considered part of the cradle of humankind due to evidence of early human life found in the area, including at Olduvai Gorge.
Surrounded by lush highlands and diverse habitats, this remarkable destination is home to the Big Five, as well as herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and rare species such as black rhinos and cheetahs — offering exceptional wildlife viewing.
Ngorongoro Crater - Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage site, features the world’s largest unbroken caldera, lush highlands, and diverse habitats. Home to the Big Five, it also hosts wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles. Unique landscapes include the Ngorongoro Crater and Olduvai Gorge. Rare animals such as black rhinos and cheetahs can also be spotted, making it a prime destination for wildlife enthusiasts.
Visitors can explore much of this incredible area if time permits, or head straight to the hotel/lodge to rest and prepare for another day of exploration.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Arusha
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - After an early morning breakfast, there will be ample time to explore the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and enjoy an exhilarating game drive, marking the grand finale of the safari adventure. In the late afternoon, the journey back to Arusha begins, leaving guests tired but filled with adventurous memories. From Arusha, travelers can choose to depart from either Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport. This concludes the 5-day northern Tanzania Safari.
