Northern Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, you will head to the Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s top game parks. As you drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards the Serengeti, you’ll begin to appreciate the vastness of this region and be amazed by the diverse animal and bird life as you travel through the acacia-dotted savannah.

You have the option to visit a Maasai Village in the Ngorongoro Highlands, where you can meet the Elders, Warriors, women, and children, and learn about the culture, beliefs, and traditions of Tanzania’s last nomadic tribe.

The Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest and most renowned national park and is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a year-round destination, with each season offering unique highlights, the most famous being the annual wildebeest migration, a truly unforgettable experience.

You will enjoy a game drive en route before arriving in the Northern Serengeti in time for an afternoon game drive.

Northern Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - Today, you will delve deeper into the renowned Serengeti on a full-day game drive in search of the great wildebeest migration.

You will focus on the Mara River area, where crocodiles lie in wait and wildebeest gather, preparing to cross. For days, their numbers will grow, and anticipation builds, but often, without warning, many will turn away from the water’s edge. Eventually, the wildebeest will select a crossing point, which varies each year and is unpredictable.

Nowhere else in the world is there an animal movement as vast as the great wildebeest migration, and witnessing it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Northern to Central Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - Today, enjoy another full-day game drive as you travel between the Northern and Central Serengeti.

You have the flexibility to design your own itinerary—spend the entire day in the Northern Serengeti before heading to the Central Serengeti, or opt for a half-day game drive in the North and another half-day in the Central. The choice is yours.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater - Today, you will be treated to a visit to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, and one of the few places on earth where humans and wildlife coexist harmoniously. The Ngorongoro Crater is renowned for Africa’s best game viewing, with a constant abundance of wildlife due to the permanent water supply on the crater floor. Upon reaching the Crater’s rim, you will descend 610 meters into the Crater, where your safari truly begins. Spot the endangered black rhino, wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, eland, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelle, and of course, giant tusked elephants. The Crater also boasts the largest known population of lions, and you will also find leopards, cheetahs, and scavengers such as spotted hyenas, jackals, and rare wild dogs. Over 500 bird species have been recorded within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, including white pelicans and flamingos. After a full day of game driving (6-9 hours), you will return to Arusha.
