Istanbul Airport - At approximately 9:00 am, the operator will pick guests up from their hotel or address and arrange a transfer to Istanbul Airport. Upon arrival and after check-in, guests will board a flight from Istanbul Airport to Adıyaman Airport. The operator will be waiting at the arrival exit gate with a signboard displaying the guest’s name, and from there, they will drive to the nearest city to Mount Nemrut, Kahta.
Karakus Tumulusu - Named after the eagle statue at its entrance, this tumulus is a monumental tomb built for the female members of the Commagene Kingdom. The mausoleum, adorned with eagle, lion, and bull statues on three columns, showcases the rich cultural and religious heritage of the Commagene Kingdom.
Cendere Bridge - Also known as the Septimus Severus Bridge, this 120-meter-long structure is fascinating as it was constructed without mortar. It is one of the few remaining bridges from the Roman era.
Arsemia Antik Kenti - Arsameia, the summer capital of the Kommagene Kingdom, is a stunning historical site featuring two tunnels and statues, albeit in ruins. The secrets of the Commagene civilization have been unveiled through inscriptions found and translated here. The history of Commagene is inscribed in Greek, and moving upwards, there is a relief depicting Mithradathes Kalinikos, the founder of the Kingdom of Commagene, shaking hands with Hercules. There are two caves; one, carved by human hands, is 158 meters long with two rooms at the end and stairs leading to it, serving as the burial site of Antiochos’ father. The other is a large cube-shaped room with a crown-covered entrance, though little is known about these caves.
Mount Nemrut - Witness the awe-inspiring sight of Mount Nemrut at sunset! Constructed as the monumental tomb of Antiochus I, the ruler of the Kingdom of Commagene in the 1st century BC, Antiochus sought to highlight his immortality and power by filling these temples with colossal statues of gods and heroes from his lineage. Monumental sculptures are spread across the eastern, western, and northern terraces. The eastern terrace is the sacred center, housing the most significant sculptures and architectural remains. The well-preserved giant statues, made of limestone blocks, stand 8-10 meters tall. Although the king’s tomb is known to exist, it has yet to be discovered. At the end of the day’s tour, guests will be driven back to the city center to their hotel, or the operator can recommend cafes and restaurants before resting.
Mount Nemrut Sunrise
Mount Nemrut - On the second day, very early in the morning, guests will return to Mount Nemrut to experience the breathtaking sunrise. After the tour, they will return to the hotel for breakfast and rest before taking the first available flight from Adiyaman Airport.
Adiyaman Airport - At the end of the tour, guests will fly back to Istanbul, and upon arrival, a driver will transport them back to their Istanbul hotel.
