Moving and Peaceful - On our last day in DC we took the tour, which was great value for money. Really knowledgeable drivers, shame so many of the stops were out of bounds because of funerals but it is a cemetery after all. Very moving seeing all the white gravestones in a row. Interesting to learn that they’ve stopped people showing off with enormous mausoleum type headstones. Saw the changing of the guard at the Memorial Amphitheater; it really was pure theatre! Moving memorials to US space disasters too. Learned a lot, didn’t realise that Robert E Lee lived here.

Aussie Traveller - Very humbling experience to see all the graves. American's do honour their service personnel. The talks were great. The changing of the guard was interesting to watch. Respect shown by those watching was appreciated. Well worth paying for the Hop on Hop off as it is a big area to cover & was fairly hot & humid when we went.

Arlington trolley bus tour - Trolley bus around the cemetery with driver explaining every part. Stop get off and explore then board the next bus to go further on. There's more to Arlington than the graves.

Great tour - Our tour guide, Robert, was extremely knowledgable about the area and entertained us with tons of facts, stories, jokes and information. He was really prompt and kept us updated while pointing out different areas of interest and we learned things we never knew.

Arlington National... - Arlington National Cemetery is definitely one to visit in Washington DC. We seen the changing of the guards at the tomb of the unknown soldier. Very moving ! the tour guide did an excellent job explaining the history and some of the notables buried there..

Must see with respect - This is not just a cemetery. There is alot of history and story in this site. I definitely recommend getting a trolley ticket, as it will help you navigate the cemetery so you can see everything. The conductors point out sites and provide alot of information. You can walk the site however you may miss out on some significant sites. Definitely must see is the changing of the guard at the unknown soldiers tombs. Arlington House has amazing views of the city, a photographer's dream. The house is also open to look through to see how the original owners would have decorated the rooms. The cemetery is still a working cemetery so a level of respect is required especially if you do see a military funeral.

Decent experience despite weather. - The very cold windy weather was the problem! The tour and staff and drivers were just fine. Sometimes the narrator kind of mumbled (he sounded bored).
