A great guide. - Chris was terrific. He was very, very knowledgeable about the canyon's history, geology, flora and fauna. He's the real deal, and he took great care to make sure we were safe and enjoyed ourselves. I would recommend him as a guide for any age or skill level hiker.

Fantastic Day of Hiking with Great Guide Hospitality - Our guide, Chris, was a great fit for our group. The communication and setting expectations for the hike was well done and we were well prepared for our day. Chris is a true outdoorsman with incredible knowledge of the Grand Canyon, it’s history, and all the magic it provides to its lucky visitors-like us! He made us feel welcome and safe. The hike was moderately challenging and our group’s abilities varied. Chris managed the day for us with fun, ease and a great energy. I would highly recommend Chris and his team. They are stewards of this majestic experience, resourceful and provided us with an exceptional experience.

Fantastic Day of Hiking and Superb Guide Hospitality! - Amazing day with our Guide Chris. Excellent communication prior to our meeting spot had us super prepared and ready for a great hike. We’re in our mid sixties, of varying physical abilities and the day was perfect. Chris was welcoming, competent, filled with Grand Canyon history, a true outdoorsman, professional, easy-going and a perfect fit for our group. The hike was moderately challenging, gorgeous, and highly enjoyable. The views from the trail were spectacular, our lunch spot and break was ideal. I highly recommend planning a trip with Chris and his team. He shared a love and stewardship for the park and its majesty that will stay with us for a long while.

Amazing - We had private sunset guided hiking tour with our guide Chris. This was our first experience in the Grand Canyon and it was far beyond expectation. First, Chris called me far in advance to prepare us for the sunset tour by providing useful information meet up location and also stated he would provide picnic meal and asked about dietary restrictions. At meetup Chris was prepared and started the tour off instantly by providing walking sticks and guidance on using them. He provided his plan for us regarding the duration, distance and difficulty level and ensured we had a day in how to structure the tour. Throughout the tour Chris educated us on geology, plantlife, wildlife and history of the Grand Canyon. The hike was exactly matched to our skill level and desires and we were extremely satisfied with his guidance. Chris also prepared a very delicious picnic meal that my wife and I enjoyed with him at the halfway point of our hike. Most importantly we got to know Chris and his personal history and his connection to the Grand Canyon and to nature in general. We found Chris to be passionate about the Grand Canyon and could see he had a deep personal connection to it. During the hike Chris also checked in with hikers passing by who looked tired and offered them water and snacks and remained vigilante for anyone in need. We appreciated him taking his responsibility to the park seriously and witnessing his compassion for other hikers only enhanced our experience. There's really not enough I could say about the experience and our guide. I would highly recommend these guys. I would absolutely recommend Chris. Not only will you have a great guide you will also get a chance to meet a great compassionate person and we absolutely enjoyed spending almost 5 hrs walking and talking with him.

AN ANNIVERSARY HIKE TO REMEMBER - Lewis was an exceptional guide on our first ever hike into the canyon! His knowledge of the trail and canyon were impressive. He started us out the Backcountry office to ride the bus to South Kaibab trailhead where we began our hike down from the rim to The Tipoff. After a short break we headed down Tonto East for lunch about a mile outside of Indian Garden. There he had quite the spread of fresh food to fuel our bodies for the ascend up Bright Angel. Not sure how many times we thanked him for taking us on this hike, but one more time won’t hurt… THANK YOU LEWIS! There were times I questioned my abilities, he was right there behind me reminding me I could. The 15-mile hike was nothing shy of challenging, pushing my husband and I past any limits we had achieved before. While we have hiked mountains up to a 5800’ elevation gain, we realized for those, we did the hard part first. Coming out of the canyon is nothing like hiking up a mountain. Thankful for the ability to complete such a hike. Cannot wait to return to complete the Rim 2 River and then Tim 2 Rim. Tip: Let the guide pack heavy.. While our packs were not too heavy, Lewis was truly ready fir any emergency we could have possibly had! Exceptional guide!!

An overall pleasant experience. - My tour guide was Chris, he was well-prepared with hiking poles, backpack, water, snacks, and a fabulous lunch. The weather was predicted to be windy so he chose a bit more isolated path to take, which worked out well. He contacted me the evening prior to the hike to confirm details for the hike. There were no surprises, I would highly recommend!

Good hike but a bit overpriced. - Our guide Matt was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. Grand Canyon is Amazing. Our hike was 6 hours long, but we feel the $540.00 fee for 2 people is a bit excessive for what we did. The lunch was great but it was a simple sandwich. We gave it a 3 star just because of the excessive fee. Matt was Great!!!!
