Guests are picked up from their hotel or a designated meeting point in central Arequipa. The tour begins heading north of the city, passing through charming neighborhoods with views of the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu mountains.
- Ruta Del Sillar - Añashuayco Quarry
The first stop is at the remarkable Añashuayco Quarry, one of the oldest and most active in the region. Here, visitors will learn about the extraction and carving process of ashlar, the volcanic white stone that gives Arequipa its nickname, the “White City.” Skilled stonemasons will demonstrate their traditional techniques, and guests can observe sculptures carved directly into the canyon walls. There will be time to take photos and explore this stunning natural setting at leisure.
- Culebrillas - Shingles Quarry
The tour continues to Culebrillas Quarry, a natural gorge shaped by wind and water erosion. A gentle hike through the narrow canyon reveals ashlar rock formations towering over 20 meters high. Along the path, pre-Inca petroglyphs can be seen, offering a glimpse into the ancient cultures that once traversed the area. This is a perfect spot to connect with nature and capture breathtaking photographs.
- Arequipa - After the tour, the return journey to the city begins, allowing guests to enjoy the views of the volcanic landscape of the valley. Arrival is approximately at 12:30 p.m. (morning shift) or 6:30 p.m. (afternoon shift). The tour concludes at the starting point or in the historic center.
