Arequipa - Forest Stone - Coporaque Town
Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve - At the start of the excursion, participants will be treated to breathtaking views of the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes before heading to the “Pampa Cañahuas” area, part of the “Salinas y Aguada Blanca” National Reserve. Here, the transportation will make several stops to observe wild Vicuñas (one of the four types of American camels) in their natural environment. At this point, the altitude will be approximately 4,000 meters.
- After ample time to enjoy the scenery and take photographs, the journey will continue.
- A brief detour will be taken to visit the stone forest of Puruña, where participants can admire and explore its intriguing rock formations and enjoy panoramic views from this section of the National Reserve.

The tour will then return to the main road and visit a local restaurant where guests can enjoy a mate de coca and a demonstration of how local women work with alpaca fiber and utilize Andean plants.
*Restroom facilities are available at this restaurant.
Abra Patapampa - Continuing along the road, the tour will pass through “Tocra,” a high plain over 4,400 meters, where lakes and wetlands with wild birds can be observed, along with opportunities to photograph the “Antiplano” with its Llamas and Alpacas.
- The highest point of the tour will be “Pata Pampa” (also known as the Viewpoint of the Andes) at 4,910 meters, offering views of the volcanoes Ampato, Sabancaya, Hualca-Hualca, Mismi, and the “Cordillera de Chila.”
Coporaque - As the tour approaches the town of Chivay (3,651 meters), participants will begin to see the stunning multicolored terraces of the Colca Valley.
- A short visit to Chivay plaza will be followed by a journey along the right bank of the canyon to the traditional village of Coporaque.
- In the village, the tour will visit the Lodge “La Casa de Mamayacchi” (free time for lunch).
- At the Lodge, with the guide’s assistance, participants can enjoy activities such as learning to prepare a typical dish or trying on traditional costumes of the Colca Valley.

The guide will invite participants to take a walk through Coporaque town and surrounding areas, exploring the landscape on this side of the canyon.
*This walking activity takes about 1 ½ hours and is optional, depending on participants’ comfort with the altitude. - A visit to the town’s thermal baths is available (transport provided upon request).
- Return to the hotel (Accommodation in a Double/Twin room).
Cruz del Cóndor - View of the Canyon - Short Walks - Arequipa
Mirador Cruz del Condor - After an early breakfast, the tour will head to the renowned “Cruz del Cóndor” viewpoint. (The drive will take the left side of the Colca canyon.)
- Upon arrival at the viewpoint, there will be ample time to enjoy the canyon views and capture spectacular photos of the Andean Condor’s gliding flight.
- After a scheduled time, the guide will lead a short walk near the Canyon (approximately 1 hour) to provide more opportunities to appreciate the condors, enjoy the canyon, and take in the stunning panorama.
- On the return to Chivay town, the tour will visit the traditional village of Pinchollo and enjoy views from the “Antahuilque viewpoint,” where 1,500-year-old terraces can be seen.
- Continuing the route, the tour will pass the Choquetico lookout point and view the litomaqueta, a model of the canyon terraces carved in rock.
Colca Canyon - The tour will proceed to visit the traditional towns of Maca and Yanque, arriving in Chivay town around midday.
- Free time for lunch in Chivay (Lunch is not included in the tour).
- After lunch, the tour will return to the transportation and begin the drive back to Arequipa city.
- Arrival in Arequipa is expected around 16:00 hrs. (4:00 PM), with a transfer to the hotel.
*Transfer service from Chivay to the city of Puno on Lake Titicaca is also available (Please inquire for details).
