• Maduru Oya National Park - Maduru Oya National Park is a true treasure among tourist destinations in Sri Lanka. Officially designated as a National Park on November 9, 1983, it spans 8,849 hectares and is situated in the dry zone.

Maduru Oya National Park is one of the less crowded national parks in Sri Lanka and is a sanctuary for wild elephants. In addition to elephants, the park is home to a variety of wildlife including leopards, sloth bears, sambhur, spotted and barking deer, wild boar, and wild buffalo.

The national park is not as heavily populated by tourists, allowing you to observe wild animal behaviors in a serene setting. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to interact with a group of Veddas, the indigenous people residing within the confines of Maduru Oya National Park, and spend time with them until evening. We will then return to Pasikuda before nightfall.
