An unforgettable experience - This cooking class was a wonderful opportunity for me to practice actual Japanese home cooking. Our group was small, allowing for everyone to fully participate. Yuca’s kitchen is beautiful and highly functional, full of uniquely Japanese equipment and utensils that add to the cultural experience provided by the class. A nice selection of unique knives, cutting boards, teas, candy , etc. are available for sale. Yuca is a kind teacher who makes learning how to make gyoza, ramen or bento boxes a lot of fun. The results were impressive. I have been cooking Japanese food for years but this took me to a different level! I highly recommend this class. Francoise.

Feeling like a local with Yuca 💕 - If you want to step away from the tourist traps and experience true Japanese hospitality, this is the place. Yuca taught us to cook a complete and delicious meal (the ramen and gyoza were outstanding!) with so much care. We also had the pleasure of meeting her husband, who shared some excellent Sake with us. The stroll to the local supermarket was super helpful to understand the ingredients better. It felt like visiting a friend's home. 10/10 recommended!

Take home more than just a souvenir! - This was the best experience of our entire trip. I love to cook and was very interested in learning traditional Japanese cooking. Yuca was so patient with all of my questions. The class comes with instructions to take home and I was able to write all kinds of notes so that I would be able to perfectly recreate the same food when I came home. Yuca also offers several premium local foods for purchase. We walked away with not just the class, but some amazing matcha powder, a Yuca's cooking class branded apron (one of my FAVORITE souvenirs of the whole trip), and Yuzu Sake that her husband sells. The trip to the grocery store is also amazing. I was able to learn about Japanese ingredients that I could source at home. Completely worth the price and you couldn't ask for a nicer instructor. 10/10 do recommend.

Fun family cooking! - We had an amazing time cooking with Yuca with our family! We traveled with another family and we both had elementary age children with us. Yuca was so kind and patient. She did an awesome job of including the kids in our cooking class. We also can’t wait to try some of the yummy recipes of the cooking we did when we return back home. Thank you Yuca for welcoming us into your home! It was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Japan.

Great family experience - We had a great time learning to make gyoza, ramen, and Japanese omelettes with Yuca. Her kitchen was clean and cozy and she was very accommodating of our group's needs. The food was delicious, and she was so pleasant to learn from. I love that she came with us to the local supermarket, she even helped us pick out some gifts to bring home. Great experience and we would highly recommend!

Wonderful hands on cooking experience! - I really loved the class! It was very hands on, and she provided great tips and recipes for us to take home after. The home cooking class was exactly what I was hoping for. We learned how to make simple, quick Japanese dishes that could easily be replicated in our own homes abroad. I felt one of the best parts of the class was the supermarket tour after. She took us to a local supermarket and showed us what the different items were, patiently answering all my many questions. I'm excited to return home and make these dishes for my loved ones. Highly recommend this class!

Highly recommended home style cooking class - We first visited Yuca's class way back in 2014. It was our first time in Japan and we barely knew how to cook anything, let alone how to cook Japanese food. The class was wonderful, such a great introduction to home-style Japanese cooking. We still make some of the dishes we learnt that day. 11 years later we knew we wanted to honeymoon in Japan, and when we discovered that Yuca was still running her classes we leapt at the opportunity to do one again after all these years!
We were not disappointed. Yuca's business has gone from strength to strength - she now operates out of a gorgeous home studio with all bells and whistles, it's an incredibly professional yet homely set-up. We did the home style cooking class again and did totally different dishes which we can't wait to try when we get home. The lessons are well-planned, introducing the basic foundations of Japanese cooking (e.g. the different key ingredients like dashi, miso) and then applying them to specific dishes which you cook together as a group. Yuca's English is impeccable and she has a warm and welcoming style. At the end, the group all sits down together to eat the delicious food and have a chat, with the chance to have a taste of her husband's sake brand!
The class can also provide an opportunity to visit a local supermarket to learn about different ingredients, and Yuca also sells quality Japanese knives and a range of other products (including from her tea business!). We would thoroughly recommend Yuca's class for anyone in Tokyo looking to learn more about Japanese food!
