- Sri Maha Boodhi Temple - The oldest tree known to have been planted by a human rather than by natural seeding is a 2,300-year-old sacred fig or bo-tree (Ficus religiosa) named Sri Maha Bodhiya, located in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It was planted there in 288 BC.
- Ruwanwelisaya - The Ruwanwelisaya is a stupa, a hemispherical structure containing relics, in Sri Lanka, revered by Buddhists worldwide. It was constructed by King Dutugemunu around 140 B.C., who became the ruler of all Sri Lanka after defeating the Chola King Ellalan.

- Lankarama Sthupa - Lankarama is a stupa built by King Valagamba in an ancient site at Galhebakada in the ancient kingdom of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. The original form of the stupa is unknown, but it was later renovated. The ruins reveal rows of stone pillars, indicating a house (vatadage) was built around the stupa to enclose it.
- Moonstone or Sandakada pahana - The carvings on the semi-circular stone slab are consistent in every sandakada pahana (Moonstone). A half lotus is carved in the center, surrounded by several concentric bands. The first band features a procession of swans, followed by a band with an intricate foliage design known as liyavel. The third band depicts four animals: elephants, lions, horses, and bulls, symbolizing the four stages of life: growth, energy, power, and forbearance. The fourth and outermost band contains a carving of flames, often interpreted as a fire altar. Sandakada pahana, also known as Moon-stone, is a distinctive feature of ancient Sinhalese architecture.
- Rathna Prasadaya | මුරගල - Initially, the Guardstones supporting the heavy stone balustrade were plain. Over time, they were adorned with symbols representing prosperity and protection.
- Main Refectory Of Abayagiri Monastery - Abhayagiriya Main Alms-Hall, or The Main Refectory of Abhayagiriya, is a ruined building located within the ancient monastery premises of Abhayagiriya in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It served as the location where daily alms were provided to the monks residing in the monastery. Situated near the Uttara Mula, it is considered the main refectory of the Abhayagiri Monastery. This square building measures 42.7m on each side. Excavations have revealed four stages of construction dating back to as early as the 1st century BC. Danasalas were typically rectangular structures, featuring a single-story pillared building with a sunken central courtyard, multiple entrances, stone rice troughs, kitchen facilities, a drainage system leading water out of the courtyard, and in some cases, an attached scullery. The stone rice trough in a corner of the building is a notable feature of Danasalas.
- Abhayagiri Dagaba - Historically, it was a significant monastic center and royal capital, with magnificent monasteries rising to many stories, roofed with gilt bronze or tiles of burnt clay glazed in vibrant colors. To the north of the city, encircled by great walls and featuring elaborate bathing ponds, carved balustrades, and moonstones, stood “Abhayagiri,” one of seventeen such religious units in Anuradhapura and the largest of its five major viharas. A focal point of the complex is the ancient stupa, the Abhayagiri Dagaba. Surrounding the humped dagaba, Abhayagiri Vihara was the seat of the Northern Monastery, or Uttara Vihara, and the original custodian of the Tooth relic on the island.
- Samadhi Statue - The Samadhi Statue is located at Mahamevnāwa Park in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. The Buddha is depicted in the Dhyana Mudra position, the meditation posture associated with his first Enlightenment. Whether the Buddha’s Enlightenment was technically called samadhi, or another phenomenon, may depend on the believer’s philosophical allegiance. In the Dhyana Mudra, the Buddha sits cross-legged with his upturned palms placed one over the other on his lap. This position is universally recognized throughout the Buddhist world, making this statue one of the most typical pieces of Buddhist sculpture. It should not be confused with the similar “Earth-Touching Mudra,” which depicts the simple action the Buddha took to dispel the illusions projected by Mara, who was desperate to prevent the Buddha from realizing that his, Mara’s, projections, and the entire world, are illusions. This statue is 8 feet tall and carved from granite.
