Nice hike - Daniel was our guide and he was very friendly. We asked for an English tour but we understood some Spanish so he did it in Spanish and translated specific words we needed help with. He taught us about the volcano activities and the nearby communities. It was a somewhat easy hike but we do have some physical conditioning, so for a sedentary person might be a bit challenging. The weather in the top is VERY windy, so it's where it gets colder, but during the hike itself it wasn't cold. He was very patient all the way, very nice dude!

Amazing tour - What an incredible experience! Daniel went above and beyond as a tour guide. He taught us about local plants and knew so much about the local area and the volcanoes. He really made the experience so much better, would recommend to anyone!

Great Pacaya Volcano Tour - Pickup at the meeting point was smooth, and the drive to the trailhead was easy. We could hike at our own pace, and at every viewpoint our guide explained what we were seeing, which made the experience even more interesting. Roasting marshmallows on the warm volcanic rocks was a fun highlight. The descent was dusty but quick, and the ride back to Antigua was fast. Overall, a well-organized, enjoyable tour — highly recommended!

Stunning Views and unique experience - Beautiful hike and Daniel our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The views were absolutely amazing. A bit of a strenuous hike. The altitude got me a little and I took up an offer to go horseback part of the way. May have got lost in translation at the beginning of the hike on my part, but I did not realize I would have to pay extra for the horse as they were following right behind us with the tour guide. I thought it was just part of what we already paid for. Luckily I had enough local currency with me to pay for it. It was Q300. Driver was good, seemed friendly but didnt really talk at all so no information was provided about any of the areas we drove through. Overall great and unique experience!

Hiking Pacaya! - We had a wonderful experience hiking Pacaya volcano with Daniel. He was very patient with us, letting us take breaks as we needed during the hike up. At the top, we chose to just sit and soak in the atmosphere for a while. All through, he was quite accommodative. Overall, me and my friend had a lovely experience. Thank you!

Nice hike, worth looking for a better tour company - OK afternoon hike - we were very happy to climb the volcano. It would be great if there was hot lava as in the photos, but the last eruption was 5 years ago. We booked a private tour - the agency almost put us in a group. The guide was nice enough, but spent most of his time on his mobile. The vehicle was in poor shape, terribly uncomfortable and actually probably pretty unsafe with low backs on the seats.

Extremely bad logistics - We had a private tour for 2 people booked for 1:30 pm. I messaged them the evening before to ask for confirmation; the following morning, which was the day we were supposed to have the tour, they sent me back a confirmation with the wrong date and time. I immediately messaged them asking to confirm the CORRECT date & time (both on WhatsApp and Viator), and received zero response for several hours. By this time, it was almost time for our pickup. My friend and I were concerned that we wouldn’t get to go at all, since they had disappeared and weren’t responding, so we actually went to another tour agency and were about to spend money on a backup tour; we thought these people had ghosted us. Finally, at the very last minute, they responded to my urgent messages and admitted they’d send the incorrect time. Just an unnecessarily stressful experience. Then, when we did finally find the driver and get to the volcano, we were told our original guide did not show up, and we had to wait for a replacement. Just terrible logistics all around. Walking up the volcano, our new guide seemed very bored and barely spoke to us. This tour is too expensive to be such a bad experience.
