Revving Up for Adventure

As someone who has spent countless hours riding the waves and exploring the Caribbean’s hidden gems, I thought I had seen it all. But when I heard about the Antigua Buggy Experience, I knew I had to trade my surfboard for a steering wheel and see what the island had to offer from a different perspective. The idea of zipping around Antigua in a two-seater buggy, exploring historical sites and breathtaking landscapes, was too tempting to resist.

The dry reservoir stretched out before us, a testament to nature’s power and the resilience of the people who call this island home. From there, we made our way to Betty’s Hope, an old sugar plantation that has been lovingly restored. Walking through the grounds, I could almost hear the echoes of the past, the whispers of history carried on the warm Caribbean breeze.

The journey continued to Devil’s Bridge, a natural wonder where the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea collide in a dramatic display of nature’s artistry. The photo opportunities were endless, and I couldn’t resist capturing the moment to share with all of you. Each stop was a new chapter in Antigua’s rich story, and I felt privileged to be a part of it, even if just for a day.

A Beachside Finale

As the morning’s adventures came to a close, we found ourselves at Half Moon Bay, a pristine stretch of sand that seemed to beckon us to relax and unwind. Lunch was served at a charming beachside bar, where the sound of the waves provided the perfect soundtrack to our meal. It was the kind of place you never want to leave, where time seems to stand still and the worries of the world fade away.

The return journey took us through Fig Tree Drive, Antigua’s only rainforest, and along the stunning South and West coasts. The scenery was nothing short of spectacular, a fitting end to a day filled with discovery and delight. As we returned to base, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience the island in such a unique and exhilarating way.
