Abrão - Saco do Céu

Conceição de Jacareí Beach - Departing from the hotel in Rio de Janeiro, the journey will proceed to Conceição de Jacareí, where a speedboat will take travelers to Ilha Grande.

Abraão Beach - Upon arrival at Abraão village, the trek around the island will commence. The group will walk approximately 9 km to Saco do Céu Cove, where the first overnight camping experience will take place.

Saco do Céu - Bananal

Saco do Céu Beach - At around 7 am, the camp will be packed up, and the group will head to Bananal Beach for the second night on the island.

Enseada do Bananal Beach - A 9 km walk will lead to Bananal Beach, where the meal of the day will be enjoyed, and the second night will be spent.

Bananal - Araçatiba

Enseada do Bananal Beach - After waking up, backpacks will be packed for the third day of walking towards Araçatiba Beach. This day involves a 15 km trek, passing several stunning beaches and pausing at the Green Lagoon, a popular spot for boat trips.

Lagoa Verde, Ilha Grande - Lagoa Verde is an ideal location to enjoy the sunset and capture beautiful photos while swimming with colorful fish.

Araçatiba - Aventureiro

Aracatibinha Beach - The day will begin around 8 am, heading towards Aventureiro Beach, with a lunch break at Provetá.

Aventureiro - Parnaioca

Aventureiro Beach - After waking up, the morning will be spent enjoying the beach, followed by a boat crossing to Parnaióca Beach, allowing for an afternoon at this stunning location. Walking is minimal due to restrictions on crossing the biological reserve on foot.

Parnaióca X Abraão

Parnaióca Beach - The journey will continue towards Dois Rios village for a lunch break, offering an opportunity to explore the beach and learn about its history before taking the unpaved road back to Abraão village.

Parrot’s Peak

Pico do Papagaio - The climb to Parrot’s Peak will begin at dawn around 3 am to witness the breathtaking sunrise from the mountain’s summit. After descending, the group will head to the pier to return to the mainland and back to Rio de Janeiro.

The Ilha Grande 360º Trekking Expedition is one of the most beautiful beach trekking experiences in Brazil. Starting ad finishing at Rio de Janeiro city is a must for adventure traveleres.  

In this 7 day travel experience, you’ll hike a distance of approximately 70 km after departing in a 2-hour transfer from Rio de Janeiro to the island. It’s the perfect mix between beach, nature and culture! Get to know the fishermen communities also known as ‘caiçaras’ villages, all belonging to the famous municipality of Angra dos Reis.

You will have direct contact with residents and have meals in their small pensions. You will also overnight in these small villages, where men and nature found balance. Trekking Ilha Grande 360º is performed throughout trails, constant mountain ascents and descents, rivers crossing and beaches of paradisiacal scenery.
