Ilha Grande, the largest and best-known island in the region, is one of the most sought after and coveted places by tourists who come to visit Rio de Janeiro.
With blue - green and crystal clear sea waters, with its corals and a marine fauna full of species, Ilha Grande becomes a perfect setting for diving.
- Lifeguards are available to all passengers and are intended for emergency situations only. If the customer wishes to use a life jacket for recreational purposes during the tour, an additional fee will be charged.
- The time indicated at the time of the Reservation is merely indicative. The day before the tour, we will contact via WhatsApp with the boarding details. If the boarding address is not provided, the final meeting point will be : Socialtel Lapa - Rua Visconde de Maranguape, 9.
- Lunch will not be served before the boat ride as some people may feel uncomfortable due to the movement of the boat. Lunch will be served between 14:30 and 15:30. We recommend taking snacks and water to consume on the bus during the journey.
- The tours normally operate even in adverse weather conditions and are cancelled only in exceptional circumstances, when the Navy of Brazil does not authorize the departure of the boat.
- NOTE: Do not dispose of any items in the toilet (including toilet paper).
- The vessels do not operate when overloaded and are inspected by the Navy of Brazil. During the high season, we prioritize larger boats, always within the legal limits.
- Transport Rio - Angra dos Reis – two options: Hotel shuttle (if available for your accommodation): If you choose hotel shuttle, you will be picked up directly at your accommodation, but you will need to participate in the boarding of the other passengers. The transfer will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. From the last meeting point, the journey to Angra dos Reis will take 2 hours and 45 minutes.
- Final meeting point: If you prefer to avoid the hotel transfer, you can go directly to the final meeting point by selecting Socialtel Lapa - Rua Visconde de Maranguape 9 on your Reservation. From there, the journey to Angra dos Reis will take 2 hours and 45 minutes.
- There is no shuttle service to Recreio and Barra

Angra Dos Reis 16 Feb 2026 with friends Santino & Maria. - A couple also join us Santino & Maria, on this tour, we book by our hotel Windsor Martinique Hotel in Copacabana. The bus ride was great comfortable, the guide was a female don’t remember her name didn’t talk much. The Lagoa Azul(Blue Lagoon) was beautiful.
I didn’t like that they ran out of snorkeling gears. Wasn’t enough to go around. The Araca beach was a messy to much debris floating everywhere, trees branches, leaves, trash. Not many got into that water. The finally stop was Gipoia Island beautiful background rock, near where boats passed. The boat was not cleans, too many people on one boat. The foods look good and drinks did do either. The entertainment was good but didn’t last only, didn’t get everything involved. The stop to have lunch buffet was outside the food was ok, was very unexpected place. Too many people at one time hard get seats and need to be cleanness. Too many people in February 2026.
I give this tour a rate of 5 out 10 only because I enjoy get in water because it was hot. And it cost too much rent vest to swim $35 reals. It should be included with the tour. Highly recommend at your risk. It was much better when we took the tour in May 2024. More Organized and real nice restaurant in town we walk to.

Wonderful day trip on the islands - The blue lagoon was gorgeous and the itinerary was nice. The food was great. Did not feel overcrowded. Organization for pick up was excellent. Fabio was an excellent guide!

Tours to do - The tour deserves for the beauty of the landscapes, whether the lagoons surrounded by dunes or the ocean beaches that you find yourself immersed in situations of rare natural beauty. Nice tour with a great guide.

A 10/10 experience - The experience was amazing from beginning to end! The entire staff was super attentive and professional — a special highlight for our guide Thiago, who was extremely kind and always willing to remove any doubts with a lot of patience and good mood. I found it sensational that the guides were trilingual, speaking Portuguese, Spanish and English very fluently — that makes all the difference and is something I appreciate very much.
The places we visit are breathtaking, perfect for unforgettable photos. The day was beautiful and the time spent at each stop was ideal, without running. We had a lot of fun and it is definitely a tour that I recommend 100%!

Go in with the right expectations and you'll have a great time! - I had so much fun! I did see a lot of reviews complaining, but I think as long as you go in prepared you can have a really good time on this tour.
-It is a long day that is mostly spent in transit. I got picked up at 7:00am and I don't think I got back until 8:30 or 9:00. The area is quite far from Rio so the morning starts with about a 3 hour bus ride with a stop for a snack and bathroom break. I forgot to bring my headphones which would have made the long ride go by faster.
-The time on the boat was a big party! We had a DJ on board and people were up and dancing and having a good time. You can buy food and drinks on board (I didn't buy anything but they looked good).
-The meal is indeed not served until 4:30pm so you should eat at the rest stop and also bring some snacks with you. As other reviews mentioned the buffet is not a super upscale place but I thought it was fine.
-It takes some time to island hop so you'll only spend about 30-40 minutes in each location (as outlined in the tour description) the time goes by quickly.
-It was a little colder on the boat than I expected with the ocean breeze and I also forgot to bring a towel, definitely don't forget that. Your stuff will be safe in the boat.
-At the first stop you jump right into the water, the second and third stop are more beach vibes. I don't think this trip would be really worth it for people who aren't swimmers or planning on getting in the water at all.
-For an extra charge you can get a snorkeling mask, life vest, and also a photography package (1 or 2 locations). Get the mask or bring goggles because the water is super salty.
-I got the 2 location photography package and even though I felt super awkward and weird while taking the photos, the photographer really knew what he was doing and they came out so nice!! This became a highlight of my whole trip! I also made some friends on board who kindly took some nice photos for me on the beach too.
-Bring cash if you want to purchase any of these extras. I'm sure they take credit card as well but it's so much faster with cash.
-There will probably only be one or two staff members on the boat who can speak English but this wasn't a problem
-I went as a solo female traveler and felt totally safe and had a lot of fun! There weren't a ton of other solo travelers on the tour and if they were, the rest were guys. I did make friends along the way, but I could see how this would be a lot more fun to go as a couple or a group of friends.
-Since the areas you visit are more remote and tranquil, overall this was a much better beach experience than I had at Copacabana or Ipanema which are insanely crowded

Raunchy, dirty and uncomfortable - The guide was very good but the boat was so packed with people we could hardly find a seat and it was very uncomfortable- the bathrooms were so gross and dirty that it was obscene- I do not recommend for older folks who like a little comfort but for the younger folks it seemed to be fun according to my kids- the speaker for music was broken and the bus smelled like feces as the bathroom was not clean- I would not recommend

Confusing booking on Viator - We stayed at a hotel in Barra and during the booking on Viator we picked the hotel name in the form. The order went through and our voucher said pick up at our hotel. However, less than 24hrs before the trip we were told there was only pickup 45 minutes away, and given that the trip is already many hours in a van to get to Angra, we decided not to go and couldn’t get our money back. They pointed to fine print in the booking about no pickup in Barra.

Worst tour ever. - Long, unorganized collection system. Spent 2 hours in the bus driving one block to the next. Was told by tour operator I must be grateful and not complain.
The tour guide spoke mainly Spanish/Portuguese when I selected English.
When we arrived at the venue it was chaos. Different groups everywhere. More standing round and waiting I spent R$320 on an Uber and left.
What an unpleasant experience. Having travelled to many different places and taken multiple tours I have never experienced this.
