Great Manchester food and history tour - We really enjoyed our Manchester Bites food tour and would recommend it to others. Our guide, Liv, was knowledgeable and engaging, and it helped that our fellow “food tourists” were similarly engaging. (We spent a fair amount of time Q&A’ing about American and British culture, geography, food, and the like…which was both fun and illuminating). The route we took not only connected us with several good (and varied) Manchester eateries/cuisines, but allowed Liv to highlight historically significant places, social context, etc. We really did sample a good variety of foods — pastries, cheese & charcuterie, pizza, Indian — and we appreciated that these showcased the city’s ethnic and culinary diversity.

Great Experience! - What a great experience! From the knowledgeable guide, to the local food providers, this is a first class experience in food and local history. We simply had a great time! Our guide provided interesting stories about the history, culture and community of central Manchester combined with an extensive knowledge of the varied food and its vendors. If you like exploring food flavors, want to support local businesses, and want to garner a bit of Manchester culture and history, this tour is worth your time. Hint: If you are spending a few days in Manchester, do this tour early in your visit. It is a very good guide for places to go back to visit and eat :)

Fall in love with Manchester - This was our first tour of our first time in Manchester! It was absolutely AMAZING because of Ian & Simon who made such a great duo! The meet up spot was easy to find and with a gorgeous view of a canal overlooking the city. They even offered to take photos of us which was really kind to capture the special moments! Ian was an excellent storyteller with a magical backpack filled with surprises, historical photos, and more! He is a true lover for Macunian food, music, arts, and history. Simon shared so many great places to go to and we enjoyed his stories about his lived experiences working in the food industry for over 30 years! They taught us so much about the music scene in Manchester and every place they took us to had a funny and heartwarming story that makes you fall in love with Manchester. My partner and I not only learned so much about Manchester, but we felt like we saw ALL the hidden gems & got to try the most delicious comfort foods! They also showed us some local thrift stores and events in the area that we plan to go back to. They made us feel so welcomed like old buds hanging in the city together drinking, eating good food, and having a good time :)

Fantastic walk, great experience - We went on a lovely walk with the fantastic guide Aisha. She was full of knowledge about the history of Manchester, and when it came to the food, her skills as a cook shone through. I 100% recommend this tour, and if you are lucky enough to have Aisha as your guide, be sure to ask her about the secrets of Mr. Smith
